Title: How make patrols for Monsters and Guards?
Post by: Vlad_III on 2010-02-21, 01:54:07
Hello.

I want make the monsters actives in my chronicle (moving, patrolling) and not just attack when they see a Player...

I have found in the file named "codex" an interesting script "walkCycle". I think I can use it to make patrols for the Actors. But when I use it in the tagID 11 called SCRIPT, nothing happens  :'(

A little idea, Javokis?

PS: sorry for my english so bad

WalkCycle scripts follow along path points. Here's a little tut on how to create path points in Embrace:

Ok!

But I dont know how to use embrace to modify an existing map  :-\
No others solutions to apply the moving script?

I hope it s not particulary difficult to make these path points.
What i must do to open the map of my chronicle...

A little tuto in video should help us i believe  ::)  ;D  ;D

Hello dear modder.

Me again, my question is always on the moving NPC's...

I'am a noob with The Embrace program, so can I make Patrols using only scripts in the Template Editor??
I just want my monsters don't stay like stones when they dont see an ennemie. I dont need complexe patrols, just moving (random move will be good too)

I hope it s possible to dot it without the Embrace... :-[

Really no other solution in order to move NPC without using embrace?  :'(

No possibility to adapt or change the 'WalkCycle script' and apply it...??? This is the last obstacle for my chronical  >:( >:( >:(

It's not that hard. If you know how to make a sliding door slide then you should be able to take that concept and make an npc walk cycle work. Same principle as a sliding door.

I dont try to bulid a sliding door yet...

It's not a difficulty for me to make move NPC using the interested spots or walkcycle with embrace.
But I dont want use Embrace, because I use a map for my chronical (CrimsonKeep) that dont have a file .map  So, I cant use Embrace!
I think i need a new script (like a walkcycle modified) to make move NPC's.

Perhaps sliding door doesn't use Embrace but i dont believe...  :-\

I made a feature in Emod 1.8 that allows for walkcycles without embrace. The Emod 1.8 walkcycle feature is not very user friendly and I didn't make a tutorial for it.

Last i checked, it's integrated into the mod. You would have to use emod 1.8 to get it to work.
