Come on, it's no big deal. I Mirrror Walk all the time. Besides, you keep waving your arm around like that without coming all the way through and I'll end up with another one of these:

Scipoten walked over and picked up the Garou arm he threw in here earlier and waved at Bloodywolf with it.

Anyway, welcome to Antartica. This is my third largest Chantry/Haven/Lab. I have smaller Chantries and havens around the world but this one is the best... in this dimention that is. We just might stop by the larger two depending on how things go.

The room that the pair is standing in is rather large, approximately 100 meters high, 20 meters wide, and 50 meters long. There are what appears to be a couple of large doors that line the walls and a cat-walk around the sides high above. Two statue-like creatures stared at the pair from the cat-walk on either side of the room.

This Chantry is not a place for guests. Where we are standing is a defense room. With a thought I can call on those two Gargoyles, and they can call on two Abominations and will release a Vozhd. The Vozhd is kept sealed in a room over there.

Scipoten pointed to the left side of the room where there was a large, stone door. It was a sliding door that was three stories high and twice as wide. Scipoten slung the Garou arm over his shoulder and headed down the middle of the chamber.

Come on.

*looks around as Scipoten gives his explaination*

Looks cosy...

*Follows Scipoten as he nonchalanelty walks trough the place*

Antartica... how do you keep this place warm?
Title: Re: A study of the mind

I don't, mostly. Only a few labs and prisons are kept warm here; the rest just stays cold. In fact, it helps preserve certain heat sensitve materials and keeps others from spoiling.

Scipoten smiled to himself after observing Bloodywolf's careless demenor. "If my guards turned on me, even I would be in trouble. He's either arrogant or he knows I won't turn on him. But considering he's a Malk, he's probably spinning jars of cow's blood in his head right now." The pair walked on past the gigantic stone door that house the Vozhd.

You have no idea what I went through to get that thing. A Tzimisce had just finished it for his Sabbat masters when I "accidentally" stumbled on him. Actually I had been watching this Tzimisce for some time, waiting for him to finish. You know that Lasombra Bishop I mentioned earlier? He diablerized a Tzimisce antitribu. When I killed the Bishop, I did it with diablerie, gaining both persons powers. The thing is, I pretty much neglected Vicissitude and Animalism other than the basics, so creating and controlling a Vozhd is pretty much out of my league. When that Vozhd is released, I can't control it. It will attack anyone and anything it sees, including me.

When the pair arrived at the end of the chamber, Scipoten placed his hand on the wall and suddenly a large symbol covered it. The symbol was black with a circle circumscribing it. Scipoten had his hand on the symbol itself and suddenly, it glowed with a bright white light. Then the seal broke and the light dimmed when a seem apeared. The large, stone doors opened and Scipoten continued. What was before them was another room the same width and height as the guarded chamber they arrived in, but this one was much longer and had steps going down about three meters. This chamber is actually a hall, and had cauldrons with tall flames lining the walls. Also lining walls were many doorways, each leading to other areas. There were a few decorations, a large carpet that streched down the middle of the hall, and some smaller torches here and there which made this place more visually appealing than the previous room.

Lutainius!

A ghoul appeared from one of the halls and quickly walked over and knelt before Scipoten.

Lutainius: Yes master?
Scipoten: Take this to the Weapon Forge Chantry.
Lutainius: Yes master.

Scipoten gave the Garou arm to Lutainius, who had no trouble carrying it despite the weight. Lutainius carried the arm out of the main hall and dissapeared down an adjacent corridor. Scipoten turned to Bloodywolf.

Ok first things first. We need to lower your generation.

((There aint really much chance for me to progress the story a lots since this is your place and I wouldn't want to ruin any of the ideas you might have in store))

*Crosses his arms as Wolf took over*

And how my dear warlock are you planning to do that? got a few torpored elders in stock?

*Looks around the room and finds that the area greatly resembles something of a dark ages stronghold, seeing the carpets, he was shure This might be a very old place, but how old is Scipoten exacly?*

You ghoul doesn't seem to have much problems with carrying the heavy arm, I never knew that vampires blood oculd make a ghoul that improved... altho We never really sired one ourself... We'd prefer doing things on our own, and our... bloodline reputation in the World of Darkness doesn't require me to have a guardian during day. We rearly meet any others then Rainmoon and recently you. Even tho I've known rainmoon and his... Girl I presume nearly all my unlife.

*Takes off his coat and bind it around his mid and looks back at scipoten who looked at him while he spoke*

((There aint really much chance for me to progress the story a lots since this is your place and I wouldn't want to ruin any of the ideas you might have in store))
((Thanks. I was kind of concerned about you possibly adding something I didn't want in my Chantry.;)))

((Age is admired by vampires, not shunned. Humans find youth appealing and will often lie about their age to make themselves sound younger. It is the exact opposite for vampires. So go ahead and ask.))

((Sometimes my longer posts will address several topics, so go ahead and make posts that parallel mine if you want.  For example, if I mention ghouls then Garou then a Discipline, I would like to see your character's reaction to each of these as we follow along and I will do the same.))

*chuckles* No I don't usually keep Elders in captivity. The childe of an Elder will still feel the blood bond and questions will begin to be asked.

*listens to Bloodywolf's statement about Lutainius*

Yes ghouls are greatly improved when they consume vampire vitae. I prefer doing things on my own too but such a large establishment such as this is just too big for one person to manage. He keeps things running while I'm not here and runs errands for me througout this Chantry. If certain herbs or other materials have spoiled, he replaces them. Lutainius is also a repair man and keeps my equipment running. He does other small yet tedius things as well. But enough with ghouls. Perhaps I'll tell you more of them another time.

Scipoten motioned to Bloodywolf and the two walked down one of the corridors. While they were walking Scipoten continued.

I wish to show you where we will be working most of the time. This Chantry would be better described as a MegaChantry combosed of many smaller Chantries all connected into a single unit. This place is heavily fortified, the walls dense and even stronger than steel. Antartica was first discovered in the 1500s a few decades after Columbus discovered America and was described as "a desolate wasteland of ice and snow." It was perfect. The seclusion and harsh environment would leave me undisturbed and free to do as I wished with my research. I came and chose a mountain range but this range is mostly covered in ice. I used Path of Alchemy to reshape the solid rock of what was exposed into a manhole. I descended far enough until I was well below the mountain base and thus started to expand. That defense room was the first room I built. I used Mirror Walk to go back and forth from Europe to Antartica and continued to use alchemy to reshape the rock little by little. These walls are stronger than steel because I simply compressed the rock instead of removing it.

The pair made many turns, each repetedly going left, right, left, right and descended down 27 steps at a time. A large square was at the bottom of each set of steps before turning and going down the next set of steps. Finally, they reached their destination and they entered a gigantic, well lit room. It was a library. The two persons stood at a balcony that overlooked the massive collection of books, all organized in their shelves.

I have all manner of books here, not just arcane knowledge. All of my occult and arcane book collections is in it's own section. I have had Lutainius catologue scan all the these books in a mainframe. He finished most of the books a years ago but there are new titles published every year. This is my largest libray, even my two larger Chantries don't have such an extensive library. Their libraries are...different.

Scipoten led Bloodywolf into an adjacent room from the balcony that was much smaller. It was like a living room and very cozy with wall to wall carpeting, overstuffed couches and chairs, and a large wooden desk with a computer on it.

This is my study, and this is where we will be conducting about half of our research. I will also instruct you on a few things here, the first of which, is diablerie.

About two years for the initial construction, but I continued to expand this Chantry over the years, so technically, I never stopped. Whenever I needed more room, I simply expanded the existing chambers, constructed new ones, or made completely new sections altogether. We'll be all over this place so you will get to see most of it.

In the library, Scipoten taught Bloodywolf all about diablerie.

Oh you misunderstand William, we will not commit Aramanth here. Murder by exsanguination is far too messy for this room. While I do condone the consept of "learning by doing," it is often good to know the whys and the wherefores of certain techniques.

Aramanth is the old term for diablerie, during a time when it was accepted. Princes and Elders often granted permission for Aramanth, and if Aramanth was commited without their consent, the offeneder was called to answer for their crime, not for commiting the act, but doing it without their consent. I use the terms interchangably but prefer Aramanth for the simple reason that I'm old and instantly gain much leeway and respect when speaking in the Old Form. A little triva for you: anyone who commits diablerie is called a "diabolist," the same term used often used on a practicioner of Infernalism. I sometimes use "Aramanth" to avoid confusion. But don't you start saying "Aramanth" becasue you are too young to use the Old Form. A neonate using the Old Form is seen as presumptuous and a "wanna-be."

Listen closely. I will teach you how to perform Aramanth step by step. I will also tell you about, but not teach you, rituals involving diablerie when the time comes. Here, have a drink.

Scipoten walked over to a mini-bar and pulled out two vials and poured half of each into a glass for himself and the other halfs for Bloodywolf and mixed it with Vodka.

It's Elder vitae and Garou blood, I suppose it could be called a supernatural blood form of a speed-ball. Just don't frenzy on me now.

*Takes a drink, hands Bloodywolf his, and sits down.*

The first thing you should know is that it isn't necessary to consume the soul to gain the power of an earlier generation vampire. You just need the life-force, the essence that keeps the soul bound to a Kindred body. When this very essence is consumed, the soul follows. However, if you drain the life-force but at the last moment break away before consuming the soul, you will still retain the power. A small portion of the life-force will still reside in the body, but more often than not, the victim will die anyway because there is not enough life-force to sustain the soul, thus it will flee to another destination. It takes a great amount of effort to break away during the process, however. Many vampires get caught up in the euphoria of drinking mortals and kill them accentally. It much more difficult to break away from the neck of a Kindred, let alone timing it just right and breaking away at the last second.

Now for the actual process. First, all the blood must be drained out of the victim's body. Drink him to the last drop. This is an incredible experience, especially since you don't have to pay attention at this stage and just lose yourself to the pleasure. Your victim will fight back because he knows whats goning on. Then there will be a drastic change in the feel of the act as the vampire slips into torpor. This is called the Inspiration. It still tastes like you're drinking blood, but you will feel waves of pleasure and power as you slowly strip away the life force and as the victim's soul fights back. The fight itself is also pleasurable because of the power exchange and the struggle on your own soul, sort of like getting your diick pulled when you were mortal only this is a full body experience coming from your core. Finally, as you drain the last of the life-force and consume the soul, you hear a sound like a distant tolling of a bell slowing down untill the tolling stops. Then, there is a release as your generation is reduced. This is called the Rebirth.

So powerful is the experience that there is a chance of both frenzy and temporary insanity. Permanent insanity may result in sever cases. Insanity in your case would only make you even more insane, possibly more personilities or Schitzophrenia for a time. I would rather not have that happen but the risk for additional permanent Derangements are rather low. When the soul is consumed, it is slowly discorporated over time until your own soul has fully dissolved it. During this time you may sometimes exibit the mannerisms and personality of the one you consumed. For this reason, I will not allow you to consume the soul of another. In your diablerie, I will watch you through Auspex until the final stages during the Inspiration. When the life-force is nearly drained, I will interfere and break you away. You will immediately frenzy at my interference, but I know what to do.

And now, to practice what you have learned.

William follows Scipoen trough the halls, noticing the carpets and the decoration wich was improving the further they neared the study, as both neared the place, he sat down and Scipoten took a seat opposit to him, placing an old book on the table with the title "Aramanth" and gave his explaination. While pouring a drink of blood and alcahol and places it on the table.

*Thinks to himself:

William: More personalities? like 1 wasn't enough.

Considering its 500 years ago, don't you have any problems of earth shifting? Cause mountains are still growing, and farming. the world map didn't look the same 500 years ago.

True. But I believe you are refering to the techtonic plates. The shifting of these are what causes map changes globaly and they are responsible for both earthquakes, due to the actual shift, and volcanos, from lava seeping through the cracks. The techtonic plates meet at the shores of the continents, whereas we are located beneath a mountain range further inland. It is true that mountains often rise or fall, but rarely do they ever shift. If it has moved, this Chantry has either risen or fallen but a few centimeters, nothing that would jeopardize the structure.

With these words, the pair arived at the library.

*laughs* Oh you will get close very soon. When all of this is finished, I would rather have you as an ally than an enemy.

After Scipoten finished instructing Bloodywolf on diablerie, Bloodywolf was rather excited and wanted to get underway.

Quote

Will: yes sir!

*jumps out of his char and walks into a nearby door, only to pop his head out a few moments later*

Ehh... where?

Hold on there ace. Since this is your first time, I want you to do it in a controled environment. Elder hunting is dangerous, not just the actual hunting, but the power vacuum, the investigations, witnesses who merely see us strangers maurauding around at the time of the disappearance, and worst of all, the Scourge. Princes are loathe to use the Lextalionis--eh... Blood Hunt-- as it shows that he cannot control his own city. Instead, more often than not, they call the Scourge, investigators that seek out and punish various offenders but most offen diabolists. And they are danm good at what they do. If the diabolist has gained so much power that he is beyond the reach of even the Scourge, however, then a Prince would be willing to call a Blood Hunt. All these risks are unnecessary. Instead, we will pay a visit to the Assamites. I am in good standing with them because of something that happened a few centeries ago.

Scipoten went over, sat at the desk, and booted the computer.

So the next stop is... Turkey. We better hurry up, it's 4 a.m. over there and the sun will be up soon. The Assamites know of my travel preferences and have a mirror set up near Alamut. They won't let me even see Alamut, but it's close enough for me to contact SOMEONE around the area who will trade with me. I usually deal with Ancilla but I often deal with Elders too.

*looks closely at the computer screen*

Oh boy... I have to make a call. It's unrelated.

Scipoten picked up the phone on his desk. It was a satalite phone and he dialed a number.

...yeah, it's me.
...do you have confirmation?
...so it is Mictlantecuhtli...
...it's in the wilderness, so probably.
...yeah, more than likely.
...Wedingo I'd say, considering the area. Possibly Uktenna, but I would put my money on Wedingo.
...nasty critters. I'll explain it later.
As soon as you have pinpointed a location, get everyone together and let me know.
I'm not trying to--
Would you just--
Just do it!
*click*

Scipoten hung up the phone and looked at Bloodywolf.

That was other business. Let's go.

Scipoten headed for the defense room.

Say ehh, your ghouls cleans this entire place?

Yes, Lutainius lives here and really has nothing better to do. He cleans one section at a time as I instructed him to do and he has a lot of free time on his hands afterward. He usually spends his free time working on his Disciplines and learning and experimenting with Thaumaturgy.

Weren't those assimites those professional assasins? I've heard they were the place if you never needed to know anything about diablerie. Some young Brujah told me.

Yeah. Every last Assamite is an assasin. They were cursed by my clan centuries ago so that they could not commit diablerie because they got out of hand just after the formation of the Camerilla, the Anarch Revolt, and subequent formation of the Sabbat. Any vitae that an Assamite would drink would instead turn to poison within his body. Recently, however, they managed to throw off the Tremere curse and have returned to their unrestrained bloodthirst.

The Assamites are a very tight-knit clan, not because of any blood bonds, but simply that is the way they are, and because of their initiation into the clan. They watch watch a promising prospect for a time, then if he has reacted favoribly, they are then ghouled for seven years. At the end of their endenturement, they are either killed or Embraced, depending on how well they perform and how loyal they remain. To kill an Assamite unwarrented brings the wrath of the entire clan, much like the Nosferatu, only without the ugliness. However, if a contract is put on your head and you kill your assasin, heaps of honor is poured on you instead. They refuse to ever take any more contracts to kill you, and they will go out of their way to honor you if one is in the area. This is what happened to me about 600 years ago.

The Gargoyles watched the pair as Scipoten approached the mirror and Bloodywolf leaned against the wall next to it.

But I don't trust em once bit. I'd rather bunk up with one of Set's followers then one of them.

*Walks over to the mirror and studies his reflection*

The only Reason I joined young william on his idea to ocme here was to get rid of this cursed weak body. Make us as strong as you want, he probably won't use it. Its me afterall who will do the act of diablerie. My will is far stronger then the clumsy Computer geek. But this body doesn't always follow the mind, sir Scipoten. Call me old fashioned, but raw power is evenly as important as disciplines. When it comes to physical things, Williams body is weak. And that is one of our greatest weaknesses.

You can clearly notice that the war Wolf speak, William isn't listening.

They sound intresting, must take quite a lot of... Skills to trow of a bloodcurse.

It's the vizier bloodline that did it. They are a bloodline within the Assamites that forsake Celerity in favor of practicing Thaumaturgy. They almost never leave Alamut and certainly never take assasination contracts.

But I don't trust em once bit. I'd rather bunk up with one of Set's followers then one of them.

On the contrary. I would rather bed down with the Assasins than the Sand-Snakes. Well, in times past I would take that preference. The Assamites used to have a code of honor prior to them casting off that curse. Now... now I don't know. I once held great favor with the clan as though I was a combination of one of their great assasins and a vizier at the same time. But--times have changed. The neonates now look at me with thirst in their eyes as do some of the Ancilla.

600 years ago the Assamites, well... I suppose I shouldn't be suprised as they always thoroughly research their targets, but somehow the Assamites found out that I knew a Tremere blood ritual involving diablerie, and their Elders wanted it. I was 8th generation at the time so they enlisted a 6th generation Elder to retrieve the ritual from me. He came to me and pretended to be a True Brujah, passionless, cold, and educated. I knew about the True Brujah but never met one. However, I knew that the True Brujah were loners who will only seek out another to satify some goal of theirs. I didn't suspect him of being Assamite, but I still suspected that he had an unterior goal because I thought he was True Brujah. But then I started to have other suspicions. He never showed me Temporis despite me pressing him about it and whenever we got into deep conversations, he would become ambiguous and shift the conversation back to me. I though this unusual considering how learned the scholarly True Brujah are. So I did a little test.

I purposely led us into a pack of Sabbat to see how he would fight. And as suspected, he didn't use Temporis at all. He tried to use Celerity to compinsate and maintain the illusion, but Temporis is different from Celerity. Furthermore, while we traveled together, he pretended to be very clumsy with a sword, only using basic swings, but this was an intense fight and he displayed incredible skill when wielding his blade. Upon witnessing this, I took out a knife and slashed his arm and jumped back. His shock was apparent as I coldly stared at him and dragged the flat of the blade across my tongue. Using Taste of Blood, I instantly knew he was a 6th generation Assamite, and he knew I knew. I used Lure of Flames to burn the symbol of Rite of Betrayers on my forehead and pretended to "expose" the symbol to the pack. Normally it is invisible to anyone but Tremere, but Sabbat Tremere can temporarily expose it to others to show their loyality. Since the symbol was never placed on my forehead in the first place, I used Lure of Flames to compinsate. It worked. The pack came to my aid but I had the pack doing most of the fighting to wear down both sides. Finally, the Assamite was badly injured and the pack was dead. I fought the Assamite using an array of my own techniques and disabled him. After that, I had myself a feast. I interrogated him first though, Lure of Flames is oh so useful for that, and found out what he wanted and why. I responded by using the very ritual he wanted on him and reduced my generation by, not one, but two levels. Normal diablerie would only alow a generation reduction of one unless there was a great difference between us, but the ritual allowed me to become equal with him.

Since I bested my assasin, the Assamites held me in great regard and refused to come after me again...but something has been going on over the last century or so. There seems to be upheval among the clan since they lifted the curse my clan placed on them. They are defying their code of honor and are killing elders unsanctioned, without permision. They are even targeting those whom they swore they would not hunt, the targets who bested their assasins such as myself. It's a sad turn of events, and I suspect that I may not be able to travel there anymore if this continues, as I believe it will.

So... how do you open this thing?

Wolf moves his hand around the small decorations, wich was made of swearly patterns

Like this...

Scipoten put his hand up to the mirror and it started to ripple. He obviously didn't show Bloodywolf how he did it.

Yes. I gained Quietus, Obfuscate, and Celerity. Diablerie alone grants you the Disciplines of your victim, though you do not gain the same level of mastery. That requires separate effort like any of your own clan Disciplines. The power is not denied to you as it was before, but you must put in your own effort to master it. Celerity is often useful for when I want to get around quickly in my Chantries. Though I have had little use for either Quietus or Obfuscate so I have neglected them for the most part. I gained Obtenibration from that Lasombra I told you about, but when I began to practice it, my body began to disappear in the mirror. I could not reverse the process until I had committed Aramanth again of another clan. This restored my lost image and continued to use this system until I mastered the sixth tier of Obtenibration. When I attempted to progress further, my image began to disappear again even when consuming Kindred, so I stopped and my image was restored. I can use up to the sixth tier of Obtenibration, but if I continue beyond that, I will no longer have a reflection. You must be careful of clan weaknesses when practicing clan powers.

The pair was standing in a small tower and Scipoten led the way out. While looking for an Asamite, Scipoten partially explained why they were there.

A few years after I killed my assassin, an Asamite came up to me and commended me for it. I asked about their clan and he told me very little, but I asked about what they do with all the blood they collect. You see, the Asamites collect blood as payment for their assassinations and I was curious. He said that since the Tremere cursed them so that they could not commit Aramanth, that had to use a ritual that allows them to reduce their generation without diablerie. It requires a masive amount of blood of equal or earlier generation than them. I would love to get a hold of that ritual, but only the viziers at Alamut know it. *sighs* I guess we must keep our rituals seperate. Anyway, the different generations have a system set up for blood trading. A 7th generation Asamite has no use for 8th generation blood, but will trade it with a 9th generation who holds 6th generation blood. Generally it's a 1 to 2 ratio per generation. One liter of 6th gen blood for two liters of 7th gen. I requested that I partake of this blood trade to gain quantities of blood from various clans for my experiments. Since I am in good standing with the Asamites, they allowed it, and my blood is highly prized since I am of the 6th generation. And I tend to be a bit more lenient with my trading than other Asamites, using a 1 to 1 ratio. I'll trade one liter of my 6th generation blood for one liter of 7th or 8th generation blood. This has gained me additional prestige among them, despite the fact that I am of the clan that cursed them.

((Because of the way Rainmoon has his site coded, any time the letters A-S-S appear, it replaces it with "rear". Consequently, A-S-S-A-M-I-T-E shows up as "rearamite", A-S-S-A-S-S-I-N shows up as "rearrearin", and other words like P-A-S-S-E-R-B-Y-S is replaced with "prearerbys". I just noticed this so I must purposefully misspell MANY words it so it will all make sense. How disconcerting.))

((Ok Rainmoon fixed it.))

Doesn't that give away your hard earned powers?

Not really. They just use blood like mine in the ritual to reduce their generation. All clan powers are lost in the process since they only desire the blood for its potency. You see, Elders get more and more scarce the lower you go on the generation chain. For this reason, Ancilla and Elders continue to use the ritual and still require blood to do it, thus, my usefulness to the clan has not expired.

Scipoten used Auspex to analyze the auras of the few pedestrians they encountered before Scipoten spotted an Assamite.

Scipoten: Laila tiaba, Assamite.
Assamite: Laila tiaba. Your accent is almost unnoticeable.
Scipoten: *laughs dryly* Yeah... *clears throat* Anyway, I am a blood trader.
Assamite: What?? We do not trade blood with out outsiders.
Scipoten: I have gained favor with your Elders long ago. And as such, they allow me to partake in the blood trade.
Assamite: What use have you for our blood?

Scipoten was now getting irritated at this whelp's subtle insults and double meanings.

Scipoten: Your Elders will be displeased if they find out that I have visited only to be turned away.

Impressed, the Assamite's demeanor changed.

Assamite: My apologies. Who do you wish to speak to?
Scipoten: Many of your Ancilla and Elders know or have heard of me. Just say that a foreign blood trader wishes to trade his vitae for vitae that is six steps removed from the One.

The Assamite was bewildered, his look of perplextion apparent.

Assamite: You know our terminology? Er--very well...

The Assamite used Obfuscate to disappear and Celerity to move quickly to another destination, but Scipoten continued to watch him with Auspex, making the assassin's disappearing act irrelevant. Scipoten sat on a nearby rock and used alchemy to make a clay jar out of the sand and took out a little burdock and a knife from his pocket. He placed the burdock in the jar and whispered an incantation. He then buried the jar and placed his hand over the sand. Slowly, the sand changed color, turning gray and breaking down into fine dust. Scipoten then turned to Bloodywolf while his hand was still on the ground.

So...what clan would you like to diablerize?

Gangrel is a no go. Not because of Rainmoon, but for another reason. I would recommend one of the clans with a "unique" Discipline. Tzimisce have Vicissitude, Settites have Serpentis, Ravnos have Chimerstry, Baali have Daimoinon, Assamites have Quietus, Giovanni have Necromancy, Lasombra have Obtenibration, or you could go for more physicaly based Disciplines or clans with other multiple combinations like Brujah for Celerity and Potentence or Ventrue for Fortitude and Dominate. I guess it really depends on what Disciplines you want. So... what do you want? What are the top three Disciplines you would like to have? You'll want to keep in mind that some bloodlines are extremely rare and even I have had difficulty getting some of their blood. I would love to have Temporis but finding a True Brujah has been difficult, to say the least.

What are you doing with that jar anyhow?

Scipoten reached into the dust and pulled out the jar. It looked old and worn, unlike the fresh new look it had when he first started.

This is a jar for preserving blood. Normally, it takes three nights to "age" it properly, but I forgot to make one before we came. Since we are already here, I decided not to postpone this further and just speed up the process by using the Mortis power Blight to rapily age the jar. It takes more effort to "force" the effects and the jar won't look as pretty, but the results are the same.

Scipoten opened the jar with one hand while still holding on to his knife with the other. He then took his knife and deeply cut open his wrist lengthwise, spilling the blood into the jar.

Jardy, jardy, so many choices, empower my shell with the power of the tzimisce, create illusions like the Ravenos, Necromancy, a long lost forgotten intrest of William... yes, I know everything of my hosts history, I know everything about him, like i've been watching him since he was born.

My top 3 then would be: Vicissitude, Necromancy and Protean.

((One of the reasons why I like requiem better. Protean is now only unique to the Gangrel. No one else knows it - other than some offshoot Bloodlines. This was one of the things that annoys me about OWod - some clans just don't have real uniqueness. I would just go as far as to say I made my character based off of Requiem, but then I would have to change generation with blood potency. Oh well.))

Scipoten was very pleased to hear this.

A wise choice. Gaining the mystical abilites of Necromancy and the physical boost of Potence will keep you well-rounded instead of neglecting one skill at the expense of another.

Scipoten looked at Bloodywolf quizzically.

Did you have your undead heart set on Protean? Ahh... Not to worry, you will gain Protean soon enough.

With these vague words, Scipoten finished filling up the jar and gripped his wrist, stopping the bleeding. He then sealed the jar with beeswax.

??: Do you still seek the power of the Ancients, or have you returned to humanitas?

When Scipoten heard that voice, he jumped up and spun around.

Scipoten: Khaldun!
Khaldun: It has been some time.
Scipoten: Yes, it has. What, 50? 60 years?
Khaldun: Approximately.

Scipoten walked up and kissed Khaldun three times, and Khaldun reciprocated. Scipoten glanced at Bloodywolf then back at Khaldun with a thoughtful look and spoke with Khaldun in Arabic.

Scipoten: Well, anyway... Shall we conduct business?
Khaldun: Very well. Marid said you wished blood six steps from the One?
Scipoten: Yes. Giovanni vitae actually.
Khaldun: Giovanni... I do not have any myself, but I know one who does. I shall return.
Scipoten: Thank you. Here.

*hands Khaldun the jar of vitae*

Khaldun: You have my thanksgiving.

Khaldun disapeared and left. Scipoten then turned to Bloodywolf.

Scipoten grinned when seeing Bloodywolf's caution.

Diablerie was not a part of the deal. I need you to learn Lingering Malaise, which is a 6th tier power and Restructure, which is a 7th tier power. You current levels of Dementation are too weak to cause permanent change in an individual's mind, only temporary changes. However, what is in the deal, is that I must teach you "some fire or simmilar magic", as you put it. You have expressed interest in Lure of Flames and I can teach you this, or if you wish, I can teach you a different Path. I was with the Sabbat for almost 200 years so I have learned both Dark Thaumatrurgy and Koldonic Sorcery as well. Goratrix and the Tremere antitribu were killed by Tremere himself in 1999. Since there are no Sabbat Tremere left to teach Dark Thaumaturgy, the current fools in the Sabbat improperly practice Infernalism to gain it. I left the Sabbat over 600 years ago, taking my knowledge with me. Only a very few Tremere antitribu who didn't answer Goratrix's call escaped Tremere's scourge, and then there is me. Few know Dark Thaumaturgy who havn't bartered their souls to gain it. The difference between the two types of Thaumaturgy is Dark Thaumaturgy tends to be more sadistic. For example:

Scipoten expanded the flame in his hand, grabbed Bloodywolf and enveloped him with it. It seared his flesh, limbs fell off, and brought him close to Final Death. Then, while Bloodywolf was screaming and writhing on the ground, the flames instantly disappeared and he was fine. His body didn't even have a burn mark on it. Scipoten was still standing there holding the flame with a sadistic grin plastered on his face. He didn't move a muscle the entire time.

That was the Path of Phobos. It expands a person's fear, however small it may be, until it is all-consuming. The fear varies from person to person. You were pretty caught up in that one. What did you see?

Sparkles and fireworks, huh? Ok. My quickest and least subtle Paths are:

*conjures an orange/red flame in his right hand*
Lure of Flames -- this conjures normal fire, an anethma which Kindred greatly fear.

*conjures a green flame in his left hand*
Fires of the Inferno -- like Lure of Flames, but it is green balefire brought forth from Hell itself. It can also be focused better, but its color might cause others to suspect you of Infernalism.

*extinguishes flames and raises his arms with lighting arcing between them*
Way of the Levinbolt -- Lightning, pure and simple. This is also good for demolishing electrical systems, and, unlike fire, it can be use underwater.

*stops lightning and picks up a huge boulder out of the sand and hovers it over Bloodywolf's head*
Movement of the Mind -- you can pick up heavy objects, break bones, hurdle smaller objects, and even create an invisible shield.

*throws boulder to the side*

I have other paths which are just as destructive but are a bit more subtle and often take more time. Path of Shadows was the Tremere attempt to unlock Obtenibration but it isn't as powerful. Hands of Destruction is just as powerful as the other Paths but not as bright and showy. Alchemy or Transmutation allows you to create powerful weapons or transform one material into another. Others, like the Path of Pleasure can stir human emotion, pleasure, and lust in Kindred so much that it can even bring the coldest of Ventrue Princes under your thrall. I can tell you more of subtle Paths or you can choose one of the flamboyant Paths I mentioned. Think carefully on your choices.

Sorry for not being clear.))

I'll take Lure of flames.

Very well.

*conjures a flame and grabs Bloodywolf's right arm*

Don't pull away, I have not released the flame so it won't burn. This is no illusion. I will act as a "net" of sorts. If you lose control, I will manipulate the fire instead so that you won't ignite. I want you to learn to control it first before conjuring. If you can't control your own flames, you will get burned long before you enemies will. Good.

Now use your will to spread the flame down your arm.

Alright, now focus it to your hand.

Excellent. Now spread it across your chest to your other hand. Don't break the connection...yet.

Bloodywolf manipulated the fire across his body with Scipoten's help. Whenever Bloodywolf faltered, Scipoten intervened with his own will, preventing the fire from being released. This is a huge tax on someone who never did this before but he was do pretty good since he was controling the flame only instead of conjuring first.

Now, I want you to break the fire link across your chest. You will have complete control over the fire in your left hand, and I won't be able to catch it if you lose focus. If the strain becomes too much, hurdle it out the door. You have a nice wide opening so just throw it in the general direction.

I am going to start a chronicle either here or on Vampire's Gaze soon but there are a few things I would like to work out first. I'm seeing some rather serious issues with my storyteling and would like to work them out here before starting a true chronicle.

Spending blood to look human all the time is not advisable. 9th gen has a blood pool of 14 blood points and it costs most vampires, depending on their humanity, 2 or 3 blood point to maintain the image for about an hour.))

Ok that wasn't very suprising. I am rushing it a bit. Most neonates can barely hold a candel flame, but I am hoping to speed you along at first since you aren't conjuring and exclesively controling. It looks like the burns are minor so it won't take much effort to heal. When you are ready, try it again. Also, don't fight with yourself; it splits you concentration and the fire will turn against you.

After Bloodywolf got the got the hang of controling fire. Scipoten taught him how to conjure it. Bloodywolf could then create a flame on his fingertip, about the size of a lighter. Now the challenge was, igniting things at a distance.

However, their personalities almost never know of one another. Your character is the rarest of rare. Not only does your character know that he has two personalities, but also both know that they are Malkavian, AND you can switch from one personna to the other freely instead of at random. And you are correct about the experience, partially. Disciplines are not automatically shared by personalities, but your character would be able to "meet" with himselves to "pool" their resources. Each personality could teach Disciplines and Skills to the others. In game terms, you would be awarded one or two extra XP poits at the end of a chapter in a chronicle. This is one reason that the books encourage Storytellers to mandate that dual personalites have no knowledge of each other or deny the fact that they share the same body.))

((Hmm...your character easily switches between personalities at will. Bloodywolf seems better adept at controling fire whereas William is better at conjuring it. Here is a role play suggestion: William conjures the flame, then you quickly switch personalities and have Bloodywolf control it. Otherwise, you would have to go back and buy that dot.))

Scipoten carried the liter-sized jar and led the way out of the tent. The pair traversed across the desert while the fiant sound of locust chriped in the distance and a slight breeze washed over them. The sand it carried was slightly annoying, but the amount was minimal, not enough to impede the senses. Bloodywolf came abreast to Scipoten and they walked side by side. Arabs could be heard talking a great distance away. When they neared the the small tower with the mirror, Scipoten slowed down to a stop but Bloodywolf continued a few more steps ahead of him. Scipoten looked around. The chirping died down, the sound of the breeze ceased, and the faint talking in the distance had stopped. Something was wrong.

Scipoten turned to Bloodywolf and shouted at the top of his lungs. Even though he was only couple of meters away, only Scipoten's lips moved, Bloodywolf could not hear him. A couple of sparks flashed as two, no, three blades clashed, without sound. Scipoten flew back a good three meters and hit a dune. Sand poured over his shoulder and half-way across his chest. The "blur" was no longer a blur as it currently stood where Scipoten was once standing. A black figure wielding dual short swords stared intently at Scipoten. He glanced at Bloodywolf, then back at Scipoten. Scipoten attempted to speak only for his words to fall to the ground. He had suprise and anger in his eyes. It was the man that greeted them when they arrived. All the man did was bare his fangs and smile. Scipoten knew what he wanted.

*activates Auspex*

Scipoten pointed behind behind Blodywolf and mouthed something. As Bloodywolf turned, a blade came down diagonally towards his neck.

((William the bloody is what i'll name the state of mind that comes when Wolf and William eaqualry share the bdy in 2 to for example use the fire disciplines untill each can do both aspectso n thier own))

Blimley!

*Grabs the Pocketknife quickly from his pants and blocks the blade while falling the the ground tho avoid the swing that followed, ruining the knife into several pieces, then sees the masked attacked prepare for another strike*

HAHA, Fun!

*pushes himself upwards in a backroll and shoots a fireball the moment he comes streight, forcing the attacker to sidestep, and then ran into a full bodytackle to push the opponent down while he was distracted*

With both persons struggeling on the cold desert sands, Wolf took totaly controll and started to laugh like a madman while activating his dementation opon the assaulter, causing the black clothed person to wither as death images, nightmares and disturbing images flooded his mind, the assaulter was oviusly new as it did not portray the same fitness in fighting as his comrade did, who was probably the master tough William as Wolf did what he did best, Untill suddenly, a hand pulled him off and trew him nexst to scipoten face flat in the sand.

A third dark figure flew over the dune wielding a sword and executed a downward stab heading for Scipoten. Scipoten pushed himself forward and the strike hit the sand. The figure ignored William the Bloody and continued his assult on his target.

*SPARK* *SPARK* *SPARK, SPARK, SPARK, SPARK* *SPARK*

Scipoten's original assailant then joined in his comrade's attack on him. Small flashes kept coming from their blades as they fought fiercely. The three contenders all became hazy as their attack speeds increased. The trio ran as a group across the desert, the flashes continuing. The group looked like a dark ameba as their movements became indiscernable one from another. One of the blurs jumped high above the others and fired a huge blast of fire into the other two. They scattered and met the flying blur just as he landed and the sparks continued.

William struggeled as he slowly stood up again after the knock out of the trow, and sees the sparkeling blurs, he activated his auspex and gave himself a more or less better view about who was who and Wolf took a dominany control again.

William: Shouldn't we help the guy?
Wolf: Nah, he can handel em... I think
William: doesn't look like either sides are slowing down...
Wolf: So? The warlock can fend for himself, remember the stone armor thing?
William: he can't use it, he would slow his body too much, and hes defenceless if he totaly changes...
Wolf: Wat are you suggesting sherlock... dementation? Fire is not an otio against that strength, dementation... I got an idea, your brilliant
William: I am?

The second Assamite leaned on his elbow from Bloodywolf's attack. Apparently Bloodywolf had forgotten about him, a deadly mistake. The Assamite closed his eyes and concentrated for a several moments then got up and approached Bloodywolf while using Obfuscate, unaware that he was using Auspex. It was a rather humorous sight as the Assamite sneaked up on Bloodywolf right in his line of sight, thinking that he was hidden. The blood buffs this assassin had used while Bloodywolf ignored him would make an otherwise quick battle a long and arduous one.

((Sorry Bloodwolf, things rarely go as planned in a fight. :P I am curious about your technique though. You might be able knock back the Assamite long enough to pull it off, or if you want, you could play a Malkavian in my next story and use your technique there. ;) You'll take a Derangement anyway, regardless of your clan. It's the only thing that will explain your typing. :P))

Scipoten and his two assailants fought viciously, neither side gaining the advantage, this whole time the sun slowly inching up towards the horizon. It was a little after 4:00 a.m. when the pair arrived, and it had been some time since then. Scipoten would be ok, but Bloodywolf would scorch if exposed to the harsh rays. He had to hurry.

Marid, the first Assamite, spat blood on his target’s arm while Scipoten slashed at him. Both attacks succeeded. Marid stumbled back as the razor-sharp blade ripped through his stomach and chest, spilling a large quantity of blood on the ground and turning the sand below brick red. Scipoten grabbed his arm and jumped away, his push aided by Movement of the Mind. His arm felt like acid had been poured on it. When he was some distance away, he deeply cut open his arm and peeled off the heavily damaged flesh to keep it from spreading.

"Danm Taste of Death."

Scipoten also did this so that he could heal this Lethal Damage quickly instead of having to heal Aggrivated. Of course, his enemies won't just stand by and let him help himself so they raced up to him, Marid leading the way. Scipoten didn’t have time to heal the wound before he was back in the fight. The blood was flowing again, but the wound was deep, cutting into an artery. Every swing Scipoten took resulted in more blood loss. If this keeps up, he could enter Torpor merely by bleeding out from his own blade.

((hehe, yeah I totaly misread, I tought the 1 I attacked joined the fight with the first to attack you, seeing me as no threat >,<"))

Wolf: Say William, you ever wondered why we got "the bloody" as exstra name behind William Wolvenheart? The nickname people use?

*Slowly picks up the dropped sword of the assimite, while its original owner was nearing deadly close, tho looking at Wolf like he was crazy talking ot himzelf, but noticing the change of voice and eye colour*

((Only slightly, you hardly notice it when both persons are speaking, you only totaly notice the other colours when the personality takes controll)

William: No, kindred just started to that suffix... Even Old Geezer Rainmoon did.

Wolf: This might sound odd, but I beleave I'm missing memories before I even met you... like I had a real life before this 1... ofcourse, I might only think that way cause of the blood we posses...

The assimite drew his dagger silently as he was only a meter away from The malkavian. Meanwhile the Said Childe of malkav bathed the picked up dagger in his blood from the founds he'd gotten when the stronget assimite Scipoten is fighting trew him.

Wolf: But I know one thing, we never took any combat classes, yet we know how to shoot, we never took martal arts classes, yet we brawl like we did... Sun is rising soon.

William: Never took dancing lessons... yet we dance... cause we can walk...

Wolf: Alright crazy dutchman, shall we dance?

The vampires shared the body again, grinned as the Assasin charged his dagger, and the blood coating the sword suddenly bursted into flames, ans Wolf swing it right as the assasins head, who parrayed it lucky, as it wasn't only suprised by the fire... alho that the Malkavian knew exacly where to swing.

William The bloody: walkers of the shadow path, your opponent might be young, and weak, but know this, challenge a madman with a weak mind, and you shall have all your sins eturned with intrest.

William swung his blade, so the assasin backed up a few meters, and when he looked at where the Malkavian stood, he was gone as William was taking his time usin the same skill the assimite has, only that he knew that assimites didn't have an ability other then sense, unless he stole it, but he took his chanses and used almost everything of his remaining blood to send the Assimite visions of his death, followed by the beating of a heart, the sound started slowly, like a normal kine would've, then started to accelerate, faster, and faster, till the sound was a speed ever a drummer would have problems beating, then a demonic laughter and silence... William appeared behind the assasin as he reignited his blade using the lasts of his bloodpoints and swung forward, not aimed at his head, but direclt into his torso, and the fire would do enough to kill the assimite... Should it strike...

((I made a good mistake in the dev of my char... I mde william too sreius, and wolf too sane, gonne try to fix that somehow in the dev of the story  :-[ ))

((Shall the blade strike? Will Scipoten ever beat the eneamy? Would he have to but new clothes? Will Scipoten ever think about dying his hair pink? Find out on the nexst post of Dragonb... Endeava-vor Mod P!!! *end dramatic music*))

((ROFLMAO! I see you like Dragonball Z. It was a cool show while it lasted.))

((If the fiery blade strikes the heart, POOF!, he is instantly dusted; no further damage needed. It's one of those rare things that will kill a vamp.))

Scipoten split his concentration to heal his wound a little at a time while still fighting, slowly closing the wound, but now he was reduced to just dodging and parrying. After the wound was closed enough to stop the bleeding, he beat back his assailants long enough for a two-second window and took it.

*FLASH*

A blue-white light flashed instantly as Scipoten charged and released a wave of lightning outward, throwing the attackers back and rolling them in the sand. He then smiled and outstretched his fingers, his hand perpendicular to the ground. A bright, blinding white light appeared on his hand and droplets of it dripped to the ground. The sand below turned to into small glass craters as the liquid light poured from his hand. The Assamites got up but could hardly look at Scipoten because of the piercing light. He hopped toward his weaker opponent and splashed the odd liquid on him. The liquid easily burned its way completely through his opponent's torso and legs, forcing him to his knees.

*SPARK, SPARK* *CRUNCH*

Scipoten ceased his technique as it was blinding his as well, but the severely weakened Assamite was on the brink of Final Death from it. He still managed to block two of Scipoten's attacks before Scipoten took his head. He felt the visceral feel of his blade hitting flesh, cartilage, bone, then more flesh. For a moment, blood spurted right before the head and body clumped into a pile of ash and small splinters of bone.

The moment Scipoten triumphed over his first attacker, he stood straighter. He felt a pinch and some pressure in his core. When he looked down, he saw a blood coated blade sticking out of his chest. He looked up at Bloodywolf with his fired up sword and felt something cold on his neck. Glancing to the side, he realized it was the other sword. Scipoten collapsed on one knee and Marid knelt down too. Bloodywolf was too far away to help. Marid leaned over, smiled, and sunk his teeth into Scipoten's neck.

Wolf: Die fool.

The assasin tried to dodge it, but Bloodywolf knew that at its current state the assasin was only capable of rolling left or dropping on the floor. As he exspected the assasin did, jumping right into the blade, currting off his left arm, but he didn't have much time to recover, as bloodywolf chopped of his two legs in one single swigh as the fire unmercyfull burned everything in its path, as the limbs fell to dust the moment they were disconnected, followed by his right and and finnaly, a strike in the its right chestpiece

Wolf: be a good boy and tell the devil he should come visit me, I'll promis i'll bit this time, unlike last time.

Bloodywolf laughed as he slowly dragged his blade from the right to the left as the assasin was unable to move at all cause of his missing limps. The blade reached the heart as the assasin's headpiece dropped and a young woman screamed as her body instantly reduced ashes and a skeleton that was decombosing fast, leaving no traces other then the remaining rags as the wind carried away the remains.

Wolf: Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

William: Wolf? Hey wolf, respond will ya, what are you doing? wake up!

Wolf: huh?

Will: since when are you a frigging tortuer like that man?

The malkavian dropped to his knees as the fire stopped and his blood reserves were dangeriusly low, a show like that was not something a neonate, not ot mention a mare 9th gen could preform more the once...

Wolf: I don't know... Where's the thremere?

Wolf's eyes flashed a light blue as William quickly took over and looked around, seeing Scipoten at the theet of the strongest 1 of the assasins

Will: Blimly! SCIPOTEN!

William rose immedialty, only to regret as his hunger made him dizzy as he clumsly ran towards scipoten

Wolf: Should've fed from her first.

Will: shut up...

((You certainly seem to have a more interesting life than me. :D Karate camp? ??? I never heard of such a thing. When I took karate, it was six days a week, but I never heard of there being a camp.))

((I'm pretty sore too. I've been working on the property here and fixing it up, getting more of a workout than I bargained for. :/))

As soon as Bloodywolf killed the assassin, one could hear as she crumpled into dust. The wind and sand could also be heard. Apparently she was the one that silenced the area.

Something was off. Scipoten wasn't resisting at all. He saw William running towards him and knew that he would die if he challenged the Assamite, especially since William was staggering.

"No..." Scipoten whispered. "Stay away..."

Scipoten's face changed as his eyes turned white. A dull glow emanated from, not only his face, but his entire body. He then took on a ghostly visage, his face looking like he was wearing a transparent mask. Marid was too enraptured by the potent vitae to notice. Scipoten's "second" figure stretched his arms out to the sides, but his body remained in place, unmoving. Scipoten was separating his very soul from his body and taking the form of a Wraith. Once Scipoten did this, ghostly tentacles shot out of his back into Marid. He then leapt back and passed through Marid, taking his soul with him. Marid dropped the sword that was against Scipoten's neck as Marid's body collapsed and went into convulsions. He weakly looked up. Scipoten's body simply stood up, reached around and slowly worked the blade out of his back.

"You're not used to it, heh heh heh."

Both Marid and Scipoten looked up in the sky and watched as their souls, now Wraiths, floated in the air while Scipoten's soul pummeled the shocked Marid's soul. Scipoten was completely different from Marid. While Marid seemed similar to his body, Scipoten possesed a dark beauty, broader shoulders, and extra appendages. He had jet-black eyes, black fingers, thin lines covering his body in circut board patterns, and black and red streaks covering his body, both colors of which slightly glowed.

Scipoten tore into Marid, rending his soul and slowly discorporating him. Scipoten then held Marid in place and some essence transfered from Marid to Scipoten. When Marid began to fade away, Scipoten stopped his attacks and hurled the soul back to his body, then reentered his own. By this time, Scipoten's body had removed the blade and was wielding it in his left hand. When he reunited with his body, he lightly stabed Marid and licked way the blood from Marid's own sword. Then he went over to the dune he had been thrown against earlier, reached in and pulled out the jar of Giovanni vitae. He then walked back over to Marid.

*CRUNCH* "Ohh..."
*CRUNCH* "Ahh..."
*CRUNCH* "Argh...!"
*CRUNCH* "AHHH!!!"

Scipoten hacked off Marid's limbs, each one more painful than the previous since he was regaining his strength. Marid bled out completely in a short time and slipped into torpor. After this, Scipoten grabbed Marid by the hair and dragged him toward the small tower as William approached.

Scipoten was quiet. He didn't want to use that power, not in front of anyone. It was his special secret. But Marid would have killed Bloodywolf if he had attempted to stop him. Anything else would have taken too long.

"That was Artomipsyce. I spent the last two thousand years perfecting it. I formulated it by learning and combining several powers, then adding and creating new ones. It once started as a Path, but evolved into a full-fledged Discipline of its own. Artimipsyce is as much of a Wraith Arcanos as it is a Vampire Discipline. I'll be using Artomipsyce in our research but I didn't want anyone to see what you saw."

Scipoten quietly looked away from Bloodywolf and headed into the tower. He stood in front of the mirror and opened the portal. The shimmering glass rippled when Scipoten chucked the Assamite through.

Once they were through, the mirror solidified. Scipoten looked at Bloodywolf and smiled.

"A souvenir I see. There has always been a symbolic significance to taking the weapon of a slain enemy."

*SQUISH*

Scipoten easily sunk his fingers into Marid's collar area, wrapped his fingers around his clavicle and picked him up with one hand. He led the way out of the defense room and down one of the corridors while carrying the Assamite. This corridor was different from the one that led to the library. The large hall was winding and snake-like instead of the rigid left and right turns. The smell of blood permeated in the air.

"This will be your second victim. He is seventh generation, which is why he was able to challenge me so. Check it out: you will have both Celerity AND Potence to boost your physical abilities. See the benefits of Diablerie? Of course you have to practice these techniques, but since they will now be inherent in your blood, it will be far easier to learn."

The scent of blood became thick as the pair neared their destination. When they arrived, Bloodywolf saw something that looked like something out of a horror film. Flesh and bone covered the entire room. It was a large open area with eyes, teeth, and tentacles apart of or hanging from the ceiling and walls. Bone pillars were set throughout the chamber and several halls led away from this main area.

"I'm sure you can guess what I use this room for."

Scipoten reached over to a wall and shaped a mound of flesh to show Bloodywolf, then flattened and evened it out. Scipoten headed down one hall where several Kindred were in torpor but Bonecrafted to their bindings, which ranged from metal bars to chains to even the stone walls themselves. As added security, each Kindred was in their own individual cells. In one of the empty cells, Scipoten Bonecrafted Marid to some iron bars hanging from the walls. He looked like a 3-dimentional picture just hanging there. Maybe his middle name was Art... After Scipoten finished, he left the cell and closed and locked it. He then turned to Bloodywolf.

"This way."

He led Bloodywolf down another of the halls. This time, there were dozens of unconscious humans bound by tentacles to the walls. At the end of the hall, a bony door pulled by visible muscle retracted up and to the sides. In this smaller room, just to the right of the entrance, there was a mass of tentacles on the wall bunched up in one area. Scipoten then spoke to the mass.

"One kine."

The tentacles moved in an undulating motion. Then an unconscious human appeared, held by the tentacles. They were wrapped around him but then extended and laid him at Scipoten's feet.

Wolf: Shut up will ya, don't you see I'm talking to myself?

Will: NO!

Wolf: STOP THE BLOCK OR I'LL BREAK IT DOWN!

Will: I SAID NO!

Wolf: Scipoten Stand back plz, this get ugly when your caught in the effect range.

((Is there a way to make it so that Wolf isn't aculy a personality created by the malkavian blood effects, but someone who lived before but lost his memory and Is using William as a host?))

((Yes and no. Wraiths may take partial control over a human host using the Puppetry Arcanos at low levels and completely take control over the host at high levels. This is virtually impossible to do on supernaturals like vampires without Necromancy. My invented Discipline, Artomipsyce, can do this as well as it borrows some concepts from Necromancy.))

((Banes can also posses vampires, but only a Blood Spirit may do so. Any other spirit gets possesed itself by the Beast. These vampires are taken over completely by the blood spirit and may be seen through Auspex; they typically meet their Final Deaths shortly thereafter at the hands of other Kindred.))

(( The effects are not the same on William himself, the effect thek ine had was only a side effect to outsiders, what I did was simply adapt my dementation to break the barrier, I made this barrier to make shure William had some kind of controll on Wolf. ((Good way to keep a collar on the Wolf. :D))

((Kill innocent = Humanity loss remember? Ho well, I'll let Wolf deal with this :-p))

((Scipoten has no qualms about killing because he tore down his Humanity in favor of a Path of Enlightenment centuries ago. Most Elders must do this to protect themselves from the Beast while still ordering the deaths/torture/maiming/diablerie of others. Because it a different morality scale, there are no "Humanity" penalities, but there are still frenzy checks. You might want to think about adopting one, probably just for Wolf but stick with Humanity for William.))

Scipoten unsympatheticly watched as Bloodywolf killed the human. He found it slightly amusing when the kine gurgled blood, but otherwise it was just business as usual. After Bloodywolf finished, Scipoten coldly addressed Bloodywolf.

"Good. That serves three purposes. 1) The most obvious one is to replenish your blood. I don't want you to frenzy at random just because you are hungry. 2) It gives Bloodywolf more control. He has more focus than William. 3) You have the perfect host with which to diablolize."

Scipoten walked over to the freshly killed kine and popped open the jar. He then poured the Giovanni vitae down the throat of this childe-to-be.

"I used this little trick often on those of a higher generation than me just to gain their blood-borne Disciplines. These affinities greatly enhanced my research. The Assamites refuse to trade vitae that is lower generation than mine, so I either must steal it from one that is at least two generations lower than me, a dangerous task, or I must go Elder hunting, which is even more dangerous due to the Camarilla, Anarchs, the scourge, and the Innocu.

"The Giovanni vitae was 'six steps from the One' meaning 7th generation vitae. This human will become an 8th generation Giovanni within a few minutes. What is more, he is too young to know the power he wields, meaning there will be little resistence. You will be able to diabolize this one tonight, and consume the Assamite tommorow. ((But I also granted wolf some kind of resistance :-p cause hes my favorite of the pair.))

*Sits down as the kine started to change*

Say scipoten, you know some kind of blade forger?

*Takes the blade from his hilt and studies it, as it was still covered with the fresh blood of the young female*

Sometimes swords could be andier then a shotgun, especialy with the powers I'm going to get.

*licks the blade, then burning away the blood with his path of flames and then sheads it again, places the blade on the table and walks over to the newly turning kindred*

((Mine too. That's why I wanted Wolf to kill that human. :) More violence=happy Wolf and a withdrawing William. Of course, it's your choice if you want to do that or make him interfere more, attempting to stop Wolf's violence. I'm curious to see which way it will go.))

Say scipoten, you know some kind of blade forger?

"You're looking at one." ;) "Lutainius is talented too. I have instructed him in the Sorcerer's Path of Alchemy, one of the Paths I learned as a human. He forges weapons of all kinds and supernaturally enchants them to become virtually unbreakable with an ultra-keen edge that never needs to be resharpened. Sometimes we work together to save time in createing a single, powerful weapon. I'll use anything at my disposal in a fight, but personally, I prefer wielding weapons forged by my own hands than going to another, unless the entity is more skilled than me."

*whips out his own sword*

"Oh how I love this sword. It is the pinnacle of any item I have ever created. This sword has been upgraded many times and I even enlisted the help of both a demon and a wraith to make it. I could go on and on about this but I don't want to bore you."

*retracts the blade back into the hilt*

"That kine is still transforming and it will be a few hours before he wakes up. One of the nice things about being in Antartica is it's nighttime nine months out of the year."

Scipoten walked over to the large mass of tentacles.

"Give me some materials, and one Kindred."

The mass started undulating again and brought out "pieces" of human. Arms, legs, torsos, bloody ribs, intestines, bones of all sorts, muscle, and flesh. After the pieces were piled in the corner next to the mass, a vampire with a wooden stake sticking out of his chest appeared and was set on the floor. Scipoten immediately began taking the bones and skillfully weaving them into various shapes. In a matter of minutes, he constructed the beginnings of two chairs.

"Since it will take time for him to fully transform, we might as well get comfortable. After I am finished with this, let's bargain on what to to with that blade."

William: Your sick...

Wolf: I like you!

Will: Wolf!

Wolf: kehee

*Kneels near the kindred and starts poking him, carefully avoiding the stake*

Wolf: Is he contius? Or has he been in the fridge for a while now?

Will: Sigh, Look at his eyes, see the dullness of it? This guy has been staked for a while now.

Wolf: Since when are you the expert?

William: Since you tortured that brujah while you staked him with wooden poles Vlad Dracula style for a week before finnaly killing him by throwing him in a metal factory forge.

Wolf: hehee, Good times, good times. When was that again?

Will: about a week after I ehh... met you.

Wolf: Ohh right... never knew why I impaled him tho... must be my creativity!

Will: Last time you tried to use your creativity, I had to buy a whole new pc and explain the houseowner why there were gunshots heard at 1 o clock in the mirnin'!

Wolf: How can I help they made it that complicated, I ordered it to start and it didn't!

Will: You are behaving like some anchient who has been asleep since the dark ages or something! You ruined my PC!

Wolf: Hey! Atleast I'm not the mindset that relate "Guns" on google with that... Disgusting Paintings!! ((just try it :-S))

William: Browser windows.

Wolf: Whatever! GO back to sleep!

Will: No you go back to sleep!

Wolf: Well maybe I will to avoid your bikkering!

Will: FINE!

Wolf: FINE!

*The malkavians eyes became clear blue again, and stepped angerly towards the chain and sat on it, not careing anymore what it was made off*

Will: Stupid basterd, frenzying in every heatening battle and geting ourself into trouble. ANDN OW HE WANTS A BLADE for bloody hells sake.

*Looks at Scipoten*

Will: Aww don't look like that, you should've seen what he did to my phone, hairdryer (william has shoulder length hair), TV, he even mistook Cars with demons the first day when we got a normal conversation.

Wolf: That thing shot hot air at me, I suspected it would shoot fire!

Will: GO BACK TO SLEEP!

*Hits himself on the head, immedialty regretting it*

Will: Ow.

((Aspect 3, Multiple personalities is always easy, enough character development :-p. I'll think abou that blade if you give me a hint what kind of bergain you wish to agree :-p))

((We bargain in-game. You want the best blade you can get at the cheapest price and I want to wring as much as I can from you, financial, supernatural, or otherwise, in exchange for my services.))

Scipoten paused to watch these two fight themselves. It was quite entertaining. After he/they calmed down, Scipoten went back to molding the flesh and bone.

"You know, Dracula's real name is Vlad Tepes, a Methuselah Tzimisce. He diablerized his grand-sire, a childe of Tzimisce himself, and became 5th generation in 1495. In 1848 he joined the Inconnu. He is also a very well accomplished Koldun. He lives on in these nights, probably in Torpor somewhere to avoid the Jihad just like most the other Inconnu."

Scipoten finished much of the "skeleton" of the chairs and began to wrap it with flesh. He still needed to create the back support for his chair, armrests for both, and they were missing a couple of legs, but he ran out of bone. However, he decided to continue. Sheets of muscle overlaid the bone and sheets of skin overlaid the muscle. After flopping slabs of flesh on the bone and melding them together, he smoothed it out into an even, soft texture. He brought the "overstuffed" chairs together and positioned one corner from each close to one another. He then walked over to the Kindred and picked him up. Before walking over to the chairs, he glanced over at the tentacles.

"One kine."

Scipoten walked over and started working again as the tentacles undulated. He first split open the vampire's torso and made a "wingspan" out of his ribs. He then bone crafted them into armrests, but ribs are thin and sharp. He removed the joints out of this Kindred's shoulders and elbows and fused them together with the top of the ribs, creating comfortable, round armrests. Scipoten then removed the joints from the vampire's hips, knees, and spine. He fused the hips to the base of the rib cage and extended the legs out then down to make the final "legs" for the chairs. The single-boned spine also served as a "leg." The only thing left was making the backrest for himself and the chairs would be complete.

The tentacles had since put another human on the ground and Scipoten picked her up and went over to the monstrosity of comfort. Scipoten laid her on the ground and pulled the stake out of the vampire's heart. He immediately screamed and began growling and snarling in frenzy.

"I don't want to hear it. Fill your mouth with this."

He picked the woman up by the shoulders and presented her neck in front of the vampire. He immediately bit and started feeding. After a few minutes, the vampire drained her completely and Scipoten pulled her away. The Kindred was a part of the furniture and could not move at all, but his blood would sustain the living flesh and keep it from dieing. Basically, this was ghoul flesh sustained by a continuous supply of vampire vitae.

"W-what?! Who...ohh...the fuuck are YOU! Oh God, the pain...ahh... GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!"

The vampire regained his senses after his frenzy and continuously spouted obscenities as Scipoten, who quizzically looked at him and spoke.

"Oh, ha ha, silly me."

Scipoten reached into the vampire's chest and ripped out his lungs.

"This should shut you up."

*tosses the lungs aside*

Scipoten took the woman and began fleshcrafting her spine, ribs, and arms together into a backrest for himself. He smoothed the skin and muscle over the newly shaped skeleton. Scipoten cut off her head as he didn't want another yammering mouth to shut up. He took her hands and fused the right one to the right armrest of the right chair and did the same to the left chair. But what to do with these legs? He could simply toss it to the tentacles and they would preserve them with vampire vitae until he needed them just like all his other spare parts, but he decided to use them this time. He bone crafted an extension for his chair into a small footrest. First, he fused the leg bones together then wrapped all muscle on top of the bones for added padding. He then joined what once was hips to the edge of his chair on the right side.

After Scipoten finished the extension, he closed his eyes and sent Lutainius a telepathic message. He then went to the middle of the chairs and removed the joints from the vampire's neck and fusing the bones together so that his neck and skull were immobile. Scipoten removed the vampire's hair and separated the skin. He bone crafted a hole  and created a depression in his brain. He then bone crafted the skull upward on the sides and downward in the middle. He then took all those joints he removed from the woman and vampire and fused them into one and used it to fill in the bottom on top of the vampire's brain, making something of a steep bowl.

Lutainius came in holding a couple of fine goblets and three bottles.

"Thank you Lutainius. Just set them on the chair."

After he did so, Lutainius left. Of the bottles, one was red, one was brown, and one was clear. The red one was three time the size of the other two. Scipoten took the brown and clear bottles and put them in the vampire's hollowed out torso. He put the red one in the vampire's skull. He then took the  goblets a put one in each of the hands on either side of the chairs which immediately gripped them when they were put in their palms.

Scipoten sat down in the right chair and put his right leg on the leg rest. The chairs, since they are made from mostly human flesh and bone, is warm and alive, preserved by the Kindred between them. Flesh furniture are the most comfortable pieces in the world simply because they are made from flesh. Scipoten took his goblet out of the hand, which gently let go, and poured himself a drink.

"I'd say this was a job well done. The red bottle is a kine and kindred blood mixture, the brown one is brandy, and the clear one is vodka. Mix and match for your own pleasure. Kick back and let's strike a deal."

*William grabs himself a mix of all and downs it in one time.*

Will: 'I beleave i'l let wolf do this...'

****

Wolf: "Goooooddd evenin' Greenland! Sup locky, Will told me ya needed the details, Simple. I want a katane with the begin a Wee bit higher and in the middle of the entire blade, I want a small carving in of it. So if I cut my hand on the higher part of the blade, a small stream of blood will spread over the entire canal of the blade, thus eadely allowing me to enlighten my blade or maybe after enough dosises or strikes, I can do that blood bind thing. So my Lad, if you can do THAT using that fancy blade iP icked up + your fancy blade tricks, I'm 100% agreeing to make a bargain, for a right part tho."

Will: "Wolf, you alright?"

Wolf: "Fiiinne!"

*William knew Wolf didn't speak like that... normaly... but whats normaly with a malkavian who lives to fight?

((tought of it, if a something, anything drink 3 times the blood of 1 kindred, they become bound right? So i tought, do you need to drink it, or just get them to absorb the blood... how about if I force enough blood trough my blade into the vampire?))

((That is a rather good idea, and it would work. The normal method for blood bonding a vampire is to have them drink it, but other methods of imbibing works as well. Careless Tremere have accidentally bonded themselves to their enemies by using Theft of Vitae too many times on one Kindred, so your method would work too. You just have to keep one thing in mind. One must imbibe the vitae on three separate nights for the blood bond to establish, otherwise, you are just feeding your enemy.))

Katanas are thin, short- to medium-sized blades ideal for quick, agile attacks that follow through in waves and circles rather than the side-to-side motions often used for a double-edged sword. That Assamite sword is already a long scimitar, but if you want a katana, I can have Lutainius shorten it and reduce the severity of the curve. No charge. However, the other things I can do to your blade requires a... considerable amount of effort. Efforts I do not just hand out without compensation. I always receive my reimbursements in the form of information, boons, or power, whether it is an artifact, ancient scrolls containing magickal secrets, a suitable weapon, etc.

Now, what would you like done with your blade? I offer a wide array of possible modifications that can make quick work of even the strongest foes. You said that you want a means for your blood to spread on its own when you shed it on your blade. I'll make small scratches across the flat of either side of the blade. These scratches will fill with vitae and spread across to other scratches which will fill and spread to other scratches and so on. This process would take time, however, but I can enchant it to instantaneously spread your vitae instead of waiting a few minutes. Ha ha, how intimidating. Coated with your blood, the vitae spread in such a way would make your sword take on a red spider web appearance.

I can also make your sword's edge ultra keen, ensuring that you never have to sharpen it again; your sword can be enchanted to become unbreakable, unlike your knife in that last fight; I can enchant it to allow you to "fire it up" far more easily with little effort; I can turn it into a Sarrath's Claw, which is a sword infused with Lupine claws that burry themselves deep in the target and continue to damage you opponent for about fifteen seconds or so ((bits of the claws break off and continue to damage opponents for five rounds)); I can even implant techniques in the sword itself so that any who wield it, in this case you, gains the skills and techniques to wield the blade more effectively for as long as one holds the blade. So... what would you like? One or two of the enhancements? Or do you want all of them? Or would you prefer something else? I can do many other things to it as well. Please, don't hesitate to ask or make a suggestion.

"Bloodweb. Catchy. All right. The Bloodweb, keenness, and indestructable metal. And black for aestetics. For the exclusion enchantment, only powerful weapons with significant supernatural effects can even sustain something like that. In those cases, many such weapons require a bonding between blade and wielder, like Sarraths Claw. Typically exclusion spells and enchantments fall under two categories, offensive/defensive and just regular defensive. The offensive/defensive exclusion spell generally causes terrible burns on the one who attempts to wield the blade other than its master, but the defensive exclusion spell simply renders the blade as little more than a club in the hands of another. I don't really see the point in having such defenses for this blade unless it wields greter supernatural power."

((As it is, your sword does Lethal damage, not Aggrivated, even with your blood.))

Maybe even the spell, allowing you to make enchantments like these aswell, thus no longer could opponents touch the blade without your or your childers blood. This should cover the Initial costs..."

((Do you have any special origins for this ring in mind or would you like me to create its origins?))

"I have no use for exclusion spells. My Discipline of Artomipsyce has had... other consequences, like Obtemebration users lose their reflections or Dementation causing insanity, whether or not he is Malkavian or insane to begin with. Atromipsyce has loosened my spiritual ties to my body, thus, I end up setting off any such exclusion spells, even if it is made specifically for me. That is one of several side effects."

"However..."

Scipoten reached over and Bloodywolf handed him the ring. He held it by the chain and suported the ring itself with one finger as he took a close look at it.

"Hmm..."

1 more thing tho, could you made an identical imae thats carved on the ring opon the blade?

((Well if that's the case, William would believe himself to be a Toreador and Bloodywolf would believe himself to be a Tzimisce. Malkavians rarely accept that they are Malkavian and believe themselves to be of different clans. Even without diablerie, you can still learn Vicissitude at double the XP if have a teacher.))

"Well... dragons are a Bygone Bestiary. The few that are alive live in the Umbra. Good luck finding one though, and goodbye if you do. There could be a link, but it is a ring with crystal filling in the gaps as opposed to a jewel embedded in the ring. I know that the Iron Dragons protect wealth and treasure, but I don't think this is related. I must say I'm pretty perplexed by this. It's medieval yet doesn't have the complexity of heraldry. Ancient kingdoms acknowledged angels above other creatures, but eventually they faded away with time. And why would it be bound to your line? During the Dark Ages, the dragon became a symbol of power, and its overuse turned it into a cliché. But this looks earlier than those times, based on its simplicity. Perhaps it was one of the first. If so, this ring carries something VERY important. But why is it bound to a line of insane vampires? No offense. So many questions, yet answers are scarce."

The Giovanni childe began to stir.

"Ahh, he's waking up. He'll be low on blood and may frenzy. His lack of blood will make him that much easier to diabolize."

*turns back to Bloodywolf*

"Whatever this ring is, you should think carefully before giving this to me. But considering it is bound to you, whatever it holds may also be bound to you, rendering it useless to anyone but you."

*hands the ring back to Bloodywolf*

"After we are finished here, I would like to visit your sire's haven. You said it was hidden by magick, that means it has very high Arcanos. Your sire would have to be pretty powerful to call something like that her home. I would like to see any documents she may have written and take a look at the other objects you found there. And we may find a few more answers for that ring as well. You have your sword."

Lutainius came in at Scipoten's telepathic call.

*picks up the scimitar and hands it to Lutainius*

"Go to the Weapon Forge and Alchemy Chantries with this and turn it into a katana. I also want you to harden the steel, make it keen, and...turn it black through and through."

*turns to Bloodywolf*

"I'll imbue it with the Bloodweb and perform the other enchantments myself."

Lutainius nodded and walked off with the sword, only to run right into the Giovanni who suddenly appeared in front of him, baring his teeth. Lutainius punched upward, slamming the vampire's mouth shut before dragging the scimitar's edge across the aggressor's neck while jumping behind him. Blood gushed out of the Giovanni's neck and he let out a growl. Scipoten lunged forward.

*CRUNCH*

Scipoten kicked the Giovanni's knee to the side and dislocated it. He then grabbed the vampire by the bloody neck and threw him across the room against the stone wall, followed by a few more quick crunching noises as he slammed against it.

"You may leave, Lutainius."

Lutainius nodded and quietly left.

"Soup's on Wolf. Savor it."

Title: Re: A study of the mind
Post by: Slayden on 2006-09-21, 05:26:45
The Giovanni felt incredible pain as Bloodywolf sank his teeth into him. While the Kiss of Caine is pleasurable to humans, it is agony to fellow Kindred. He flailed and fought back as hard as he could, but was already weak and had several broken bones and dislocated joints which only added more pain. He quickly slipped into torpor as the last of his blood was drained, but unlike normal torpor, a victim of diablerie is fully awake during the entire process, completely and horribly aware of what is going on yet cannot do a thing to stop it. As his life force was leaving his body, the Giovanni was possessed by absolute terror, a terror that no amount of logic or reason can hold at bay. As the Vessel approached Final Death his panic grew until it became all-encompassing. Even for Kindred who seek Final Death, diablerie is the most horrible way of attaining it that can be imagined.

((This is the other side of the coin. I only described the benefits and pleasure from diablerie. I never mentioned this part. :-X))

Scipoten watched on through Auspex as Bloodywolf was enraptured in the pleasures of diablerie. Though Scipoten could not hear it, Bloodywolf could hear the tolling of a bell at a great distance slowing down, just as Scipoten described. As Bloodywolf heard this, Scipoten could see the shackles of the life force slipping away. Soon Bloodywolf would pull the soul into himself. Scipoten thought for a moment. "My original plan was to physically interfere before he consumed the soul, but now I have a better option. He has already seen my Artomipsyce..." Scipoten stepped out of his body and walked behind the Vessel. He reached in and pulled out the Giovanni's soul before Bloodywolf consumed it but allowed Bloodywolf to continue to feed from the body. This way there would be less of a chance that Bloodywolf would frenzy immediately following this act, but it was no guarantee.

The extracted soul was ecstatic. He was captured and sent to this remote part of the world and killed twice in the most horrible fashion. Fear and paranoia gripped this poor wraith. Now that there was nothing left of this wraith and Scipoten had no further use for him, Scipoten showed a little compassion and decided to escort him to the Underworld himself rather than let him go on his way and than leave him to the Reapers. In fact Scipoten was so generous, he will present this Enfant to the proper Deathlord and get a tidy sum of money or other valuable reward for his trouble. What happens to this wraith after that, however, Scipoten didn't really care. Maybe he would be better off, maybe he would be bound in chains and made into a thrall for the next few centuries. Whatever happened, the important thing is, Scipoten got his dues thrice over and even got a nice moral boost (what can be called morals for those on a Path of Enlightenment).

While Scipoten's soul was away, his body remained and watched Bloodywolf finish off the Giovanni. Without his soul, Scipoten felt very weak, and his weakness would only increase as time would go on until he reunited with his soul.

Bloodywolf felt the fire in his blood as the last of the life force passed from the Giovanni Vessel. The feelings were indescribable: pleasure so piercing it becomes agony, or pain so sweet it becomes ecstasy. As the last bit of life force passed through Bloodywolf's lips and ended, the ecstasy of the Inspiration blossomed to impossibly greater heights. So wracking is this experience that Bloodywolf, and any other diabolist, is incapable of even uttering a cry of exaltation. This is the Rebirth, the moment Bloodywolf's generation shifted to a lower, more powerful generation.

((Ok so I'm sposed to frenzy atm? Second part is my own idea of what happens when a contius personality willingly shuts off all contact with the real world to rest, or avoid something or such. Since I'm a malkavian, I don't see why I can't do that :-p))

Wolf continues to feed untill he suddenly started to feel the extacy as his generation shifted lower. It was quite undiscribable with mere words. As he continued to feed, the Giovanni started to turn into ashes as wolf was draining the remaining life energy that kept the vampire in this existance.

Suddenly he felt a pull on his mind.

Wolf: William? William!?

********

William was sitting on a bench by the sunlight enjoying the soft chirping of birds and the soft sound of fishes splaching in the water. He was at a lake as he went into some sleeping state, avoiding the whole scenery of the what Scipoten called "Ahmand" since he was shure the change would strengthen both personalities, and he could already feel some kind of change in his vampiric blood.

William: "Ohh bloodyhell, Wolf always has to do things messy, I really get sick of it some times."

*Plays on his laptop a game he knows by heart when suddenly all sound stopped and his laptop disapeared*

Will: "The hell?!"

The water started to change colour to bloodred, and gras dried up and dead birds fell from the trees. The area changed into some kind of stone tombe as blood was leaking from the graves, and suddenly all graves busted open and the central gravelid was broken in pieces as a person came out of it. The person was cled in plate armor, wearing a huge broadsword and the symbol of a dragon on his left chestpiece. The man raised his sword as he walked to to William.

Will: Ohh bugger...

Right before the man who he recognised from his first dream he got when wolf awoke after his embrace, everything disapeared in blackness as William awoke while Wolf was on his knees holding his head. Suddenly the image William saw was just what his eyes saw, only covered by a blood red haze locked towards scipoten as the malkavian stood up slowly, then starte to charge towards scipoten, fangs exposed and enlenghtened.

"Well... it's better that he frenzy than the delude himself with dreams of grandeur."

Scipoten was somewhat glad it turned out like this. Frenzy would distract Bloodywolf's mind from basking in his newfound power and deluding himself. While he has significantly increased his abilities, many diabolists fall prey to the notion that they are untouchable and truly immortal. Thankfully, frenzy would prevent this.

Bloodywolf charged at Scipoten with speed he did not posses before. With fangs bared and claws extended, Bloodywolf viciously jumped and clawed at him. Scipoten ducked and let Bloodywolf trip over his crouched body. When Bloodywolf fell about halfway to the ground, Scipoten sprang up and continued and redirected Bloodywolf's movement, hurdling him face-down into the stone wall. Scipoten felt drained. Without his soul, every movement felt as though he was weighed down and all his movements were impeded, like trying to move quickly underwater. Unfortunately for him, however, Bloodywolf didn't give up, as though the impact into the wall didn't even phase him.

"Oh boy. Lower gen = bigger threat. Hhhhhrrrraaahhhh...!"

Scipoten spread his arms and activated Potence and Celerity. Bloodywolf charged and struck with his claws.

*SCRAPE*

Blodywolf's scratched something hard. Scipoten held his left arm out in front of him, shielding himself from Bloodywolf's strike. The grayness of Scipoten's arm spread upward and over his body. Within a few moments, Scipoten looked like a moving statue. For the most part, his stone armor was plated and solid, but at the joints, the stone was weaker yet pebbled and sufficiently protected.

*CLUNK*

Scipoten threw a punch that sent Wolf flying, only for him to pop back up and attack again. Bloodywolf slammed into Scipoten, knocking him to the ground. Scipoten rolled over and slowly got up while Wolf jumped on top and started punching his head. Scipoten was only partially transformed. His skin was rock, but he was still soft on the inside, meaning the blunt punches still hurt to a degree. If he fully transformed, he would barely be able to move at all. Scipoten shook off Bloodywolf and rolled him away, who simply popped up again. Then Scipoten took the offensive and threw punches that Wolf dodged. With each missed swing, Scipoten hit and broke pieces of the wall. Even with Celerity, Scipoten was slower in his transformed state which was compounded by lacking a soul. But he had no choice. He had to fight on.

((eh, sorry for slow response. The last days I've been buzy like hell, just around 5 min on these forums after i've done my homework >.< Visual basic and C++ are harden then I suspected, but ho well))

All William could do was look trough his body's eyes as something else was controlling it. He was shure it was wolf, but he never acted like that, and god Wolf was always about frenzying around combats. William was never shure why, but in tough battles, Wolf just went wacko. he had spend many nights lying in his coffin just recovering from bulletwounds Wolf usualy took to scare the pitfull kine, and thus also allowing him to beat them up without follow ups.

Bloodywolf jumped in the air over Scipoten who was slower in reacting due his half transformed stone form, and landed on the living Chair. He ripped off a piece of bone with a pointy edge and holded it in his right hand. he then stormed back to scipoten who exspected that and dodged it, placing a hard fist in Wolf's back, knocking him on the grouind and making him growl in anger. Untill suddenly Wolf stood up and started to move around the room, but not only that, but he also began to move faster, apperently he had found out about his new discipline... or it was pure lock of a tought wolf needed to activate and, white it wasn't that much faster, it was a great improvement to scipoten who moved at reduced speed, eccentialy making it impossible to keep wolf in sight, Untill Wolf  rand towards scipotens back, and pressed the crafted and strenghtened by Scipoten, into its own creators right shoulder joint, who was barely protected to allow movement.

William (in mind): "WOLF! Stop this maddness, get a grip on yourself!"

Wolf: "Its not me..."

William: "What?!"

Wolf: "I don't know why, but some demonic presence whos mind is pure primal urges has taken over"

William: "The beast? I tought you said whe had non!"

Wolf: "Never said that, the frenzy's you keep claiming me to have, thats just my way of living, I live to kill, but I've never truely let the beast loose, k'ept 'im on chains all the time, now that we delaberied, my... our mind was weakened, thus allowing the beast to take over as it cries against the unknown energy we had absorbed."

William: "So were stuck?"

Wolf: "Nah, you know what happend, the beast is clumsy, the warlock will stop acting weak, burn us to crisp and live to see another day and tell old man rainmoon that we had some fatal accedent involving sunlight88"

William: "..."

Wolf: "I'm kidding! Geeze, I'm working on it, atleast i can blink our eyes at will..."

William: "Now that would help..."

The Malkavian twisted and turned the bone in the blood leaking wound.

"Nugh..."

Scipoten grunted as the bone pierced his shoulder, the Aggrivated wouned more painful than most others. He took primarily a defensive role because he neither wanted to kill Bloodywolf, nor did he want to disable him for a long period of time. Turning into a solid statue would likely cause the frenzied Wolf to seek violence elsewhere. He didn't want Lutainius dead, he was competent, and Scipoten's Gargoyle and Abomination guards would not bother wasting their time trying to confine Wolf. They would simply kill him without a second thought. Scipoten simply wanted to ride out the storm until Bloodywolf calmed down. He realized his mistake as the bone twisted within his shoulder.

"This isn't going to work."

Scipoten transformed back into his standard form except for his right arm. Using the full speed of his upper levels of Celerity and the full strength of Potentce, Scipoten spun around and planted the back of his stone fist firmly on the side of Bloodywolf's face. He moved so fast it looked like he telepoted around, but it was pure speed.

*CRRRRACKKK*

That punch was different. This one made a noise, and a rather loud one at that. The bone was still sticking out of his back but Scipoten ignored it in favor of time. The exact moment Bloodywolf hit the wall, Scipoten was standing in front of him. Again, it appeared as though he teleported, but he didn't. Before Wolf could even fall to the ground, Scipoten instantly had his right hand wrapped around Bloodywolf's neck and pressed it against the wall. He transformed his stone hand back into its fleshy one then cast The Withering of Ages on Bloodywolf and back away.

"Sorry Bloodywolf, but your are too dangerous right now."

Bloodywolf groaned and dropped to his knees, then fell forward on one hand while clutching his chest with the other. His body began to transform into his true age and reflected his state of death. The skin around his eyes, mouth, and fingernails receded; his fanges enlongated, exaggerating his vampiric condition; his skin took on a deathly pale color, which also became thin and frail; his bones were almost like glass they were so weak; and he lost all of his strength to the point that he could barely even move. Bloodywolf glared at Scipoten and tried to stand up, only to colapse under his own weight; his body had become his own worst enemy.

If Scipoten could breathe a sigh of relief, he would have. He pulled the bone out of his shoulder and walked over to the Monstrosity of Comfort ((;D)) and repaired his chair. Then he sat down and meditated for a few minutes to heal his wound. He then poured himself a bloody drink and waited for his soul to return and for Bloodywolf to calm down.

Wolf: *wistle* Now thats quite intresting.

Will: Aww Scipoten, the hell did you do?

*The malkavian slowly turns into his back, looking up*

Will: I feel like I just slept for a few ages.

Wolf: If you listen to your vampiric instinct, you would say we did.

Will: What instinct? You have instinct other then killing instinct.

Wolf: Humn, got to drain some more vampires, I love it!

Will: You love it when your unable to move unless you want to break your bones who are at the moment depleted of any strenght?

Wolf: Seesh, thats it, when we recovered, I'm soo gonne teach your ass a few tricks to harness your powers.

Will: Scipoten, how long before I can kick your ass for this again?

Scipoten lauged.

"Ha ha! Welcome back. Are you sure you want to kick my asss? You don't look like you would enjoy this a second time, hehe. The effects will wear off tomorrow night, but here in Antartica, 'tormorrow' is six months from now. Don't worry though, I can Mirror Walk you back to the bar and from there we can go to your haven and you can get some rest. Or we can go to one of my more 'splendid' havens and you can rest there until you recover. While you are out, I can work on your sword here. I come can get you when I have finished. You need the rest anyway just because you will be diabolizing at least once more. Since you are familiar with its effects, diablerie should be easier for you to control next time."

Will: Whats so funny wolf?

Wolf: Ahh, just enjoying the knowledge of another victome.

Will: so we end up like this again?

Wolf: nah, won't let that happen twice William.

Will: fine fine, drag me towards a mirror then scippy, but alas my haven doesn't have any mirrors, as my sire hated them.

Wolf: Ahh, yes, quite weird, cause she was a sight for the eye.

Will: speak for yourself, her eyes instantly betrayed her linage.

((If we go back to the bar, post it in the other thread, keeps it a bit location set :-p))

((When you diabolize for the second time, you will still want to role play it correctly. You would feel gidy and incredibly powerful, again, and on the verge of frenzy, but you know what to expect this time.))

Scipoten got up, went over, bent down, and had Bloodywolf put his arm across the top of Scipoten's back. Standing at 6 foot 4 inches (193 cm), Scipoten isn't small ((that is my real height 8))). When he stood, he nearly lifted Bloodywolf off the ground.

"I'll carry you to the bar, but you will need to use blood buffs to summon the strength to get to your haven. You need blood."

Scipoten supported Wolf and they walked outside the room to the hall where the many kine were bound by the tentacles.

"Drink up. But don't kill 'em ok? I like to have as few leftovers as possible."

((You can use blood buffs to boost your strength and other stats for a short time. You will probably want to feed in the bar as well before actually going back to your haven.))

After Bloodywolf had his fill from various kine, the pair walked to Scipoten's large mirror. Simply walking all the way to the mirror spent nearly a third of Bloodywolf's reserves in buffs. The moment the pair entered the defense room, two shadows appeared high above on either side of the walls of the large chamber. The shadows then took form as the rock seemed to protrude outward. The protrusions shaped into Scipoten's familiar Gargoyle guards. This was their standard means of transportation around the Chantry.

Scipoten held his hand up the mirror and it started to ripple with the appearence as though a stone had been thrown in a still pond.

Scipoten was about to step through when he shuddered.

"Woah. It's good to be back in world of flesh and blood."

Scipoten slipped into the passenger seat and pricked his finger with his fang and squeezed a drop of blood on a feather, then burned the feather while whispering an incantation. After this, he rolled down the window and put his hand on the roof of the car and looked toward Bloodywolf.

"Ready when you are," said Scipoten with a mischievous smile.

Scipoten kept his hand on the roof of the car and looked forward.

"This was used in the old days on chariots and wagons; it does wonders on vehicles these days."

As he focused on the road, Scipoten cracked a smirk. At nearly an instant, Bloodywolf and Scipoten's bodies became hard-pressed against the seats as the needle on the speedometer went from the 30-kph-mark all the way around until it firmly buried itself at the end of the dial. Just how fast they were going is unknown since the speedometer only read up to 100 kph, but they were going MUCH faster than that. Bloodywolf had trouble keeping a grip on the steering wheel and desperately maneuvered around obstacles. Despite the situation, Scipoten calmly spoke to Wolf.

"This isn't going to be any 'trouble', is it?"

((Bold = toughts))

The car kept shaking more and more.

Wolf: William stop using so much bloodbuffs, or I'm shutting the supply.

((lets say wolf controlls the majority of the body enhancing and combat disciplines. While William exeeds in the all-round parts.))

Will: Your Drive this thing then!

Wolf: Bah, you know I can't. Besides your hummiliating us infront of the lock. Here hope this helps, best I can do.

As Scipoten looked towards William, he saw that williams skin became gray again and got dryer, his eyes, ususaly glowing a certaint colour became grey like but Williams grip strenghtened. And the car shaking stopped mostly, fully focused to avoid incoming cars who were closing by at ungodly rate.

Wolf: Left william, left.

William: Ok.

wolf: NOT THAT MUCH!

The car turned and did a short slip, almost hitting the wall as William turned, not used to this speed.

Will: got it.

When Bloodywolf hit the brakes to stop the car, the car stoped. Instantly. The car didn't skid, but the pair's bodies still felt the momentum and lunged forward at the sudden halt. Scipoten outstreched an arm and braced himself against the dash board while Bloodywolf braced himself against the steering wheel.

"New York is held by the Sabbat. They won't care about this little 'indiscretion' of mine."

Scipoten and Bloodywolf got out of the car at the same time. Scipoten took a moment to light a cigarette and laid his arm on the roof of the car.

"Had fun?"

Wolf: yes, a speed I like.

William: ...

Wolf: Dutchman?

William: CAN'T YOU WARN ME NEXT TIME!?

*Coughs*

William: This way please.

William Leads scipoten towards the back yard, which was quite decorated by plants, a maze it would have been if the plants hadn't grow wildly around the years.

William: I always wondered how my sire would be able to get out of here. I wasn't embraced here and I was knocked out cold when she brought me to her haven, Maybe she could levitate, but I had to make my own exit by cutting myself a way out.

The malkavian lead scipoten to the back of the maze where he lifted a pair bushes wich covered a small hole large enough for a man to crowl, when the pair went trough, staining Scipotens knees with dust, they walked trough a tunle, covered by the colourfull leaves of the season. Even if there wasn't much to see with only the light of a flashlight in williams hands wich he picked out of a small metal box at the beginning of the tunnel.

William: One thing before we enter.

*His ever joyfull look, even if it was tained by the weakness spell was dead serius, strengthened by Wolfs red eyes of killing intend wich covered his aura.*

Wolf: Our sire went into a torpor at her own twisted will. You shall not enter her room... under any reason, circumstances or idea. If you even think about disturbing her, I shall trow you out, or wourse, no matter what. She's sacred for us. Touch her at your own risk.

*he coughs as William took back over and walked towards a single black stone wall, wich seemed to be unaffected by the plants around the area, Scipoten could suddenly feel the powerfull magic surrounding it. This was no beginners stuff, this was anchient. William bit open his tumb and index finger and placed the 2 bleeding pieces of flesh on the very center of the stone, wich shortly glowed, too short to read, and a dark hole appeared wich william stepped trough.

((The magic is not mine for shure :-p))

*Wolfs red eyes of killing intend wich covered his aura.*
((Only the Soul Mask (Obfuscate level 6) may cover one's aura. Even then, 7 dots or higher in Auspex can pierce through it.))

Scipoten crouched and followed Bloodywolf through the small passage. When he got up, he dusted off his knees but could not remove all the dirt. Giving up, he listened as Bloodywolf gave his warning.

Wolf: Our sire went into a torpor at her own twisted will. You shall not enter her room... under any reason, circumstances or idea. If you even think about disturbing her, I shall trow you out, or wourse, no matter what. She's sacred for us. Touch her at your own risk.

Scipoten curtly replied:
"I shall leave that decision to her."

Up until now, Scipoten was unaware that Bloodywolf's sire had not met her Final Death. This fact changes everything, specifically with regard to the Laws of Domain. Scipoten does not follow Camarilla law unless he is in one of their cities, but, as an Elder, he almost always follows the ancient Cainite Law. This is Isabella's haven, not Bloodywolf's.

Scipoten felt the magic of the place because of his centuries of using Auspex. When Bloodywolf pierced his fingers and approached the wall, Scipoten watched on through Thaumaturgical Sight, a combination of Auspex and Thaumaturgy. Tremere often use this ability when combating another Thaumaturge, or when "reverse-engineering" magic and for other experiments. In this case, Scipoten was using it for the latter. When the passage opened, he saw the magic fundamentals on which the spell was built. He saw all he needed to see. Scipoten crossed his arms and rested his chin on one hand and thought.

"This is interesting. As I suspected, this place is emanating a large amount of Arcanos, and I have already gleaned several bits of information from this building, two of which is regarding the magic. First, this magic is pretty new. It's no more than 400 years old, but looking at the Victorian Architecture, I would say it is more around 300. Columbus discovered America in 1492, but that was in the Caribbean area. Colonization of the north, especially this far north didn't even begin until about a century later, and all those colonies failed. Stable, lasting colonies were not established until a century after that, which perfectly places this house in that time frame."

"Second, this is Koldunic Sorcery, the magic that the Tzimisce developed in the Slavic and Romanian areas to protect their precious lands. Now either your sire is a koldun with stolen Tzimisce secrets, or your sire was not the first occupant of this residence. In either case, I am interested in the documents and artifacts here now more than ever. Remember our deal? We have yet to finalize it."

*Walks down the lightless stairs, knowing the lay of the haven by heart*

William: I haven't forgotten, I beleave my sire once told me of fledgelings who entered her domain, maybe thats grants her the acces to these... magics... Or someone with a boon made it for her. Malkavians had quite some forms in the old days, i don't think she was seen as a madmen, but maybe she was a lie detector, or an oracle, or what every crazyness she may have had. Compaired to me, her madness might cast discomfort in even you. No mather how old you are. I do know for fact that she is older then 300 years.

Wolf: You're gonne walk past it.

Will: Right...

You hear a stone sliding and suddenly the room was lightened up by green, blue and red flame, coming from several stone torches.

The room was huge, compaired that it was underground, wich could explain the fact that the stairs took several minutes and several twists. The first thing you notice it that it was a Classic victorian manson but with several references and painting of the older ages.

William: if you can place a date on the newest object you can see here, you know the date of her first torpor. My master is quite timeless, and a collector aswell. You might find objects here who are one of a kind, something you looked for but never found.

Behind Scipoten there was a statue of a knight, his back was covered by loose cloaks and his shield had the symbol of a dragon on it. if you looked closely, you could spot very soft traces of old dried up blood wich covered the white stone.

I haven't forgotten, I beleave my sire once told me of fledgelings who entered her domain, maybe thats grants her the acces to these... magics... Or someone with a boon made it for her.
Possibly. But fledglings would not have the knowledge or the experience to set up this level of power. I am inclined to believe that she cashed in a boon.

When the pair entered the room, Scipoten slowly looked around in surprise.

"This-- this is a chantry. This is exactly the way most Tremere chantries looked during the Dark Ages."

Scipoten walked over to a bookcase. He slowly pulled out one book and put it up, then pulled out another a little quicker and put it up, then another and another, each more quickly than the last until he slammed one last book into the case and backed up. He rubs his neck.

"The collection is small, but these books are on Hermeticism -- the basis of Thaumaturgy. If the Tremere found out about this, they would kill her. Hmm... these books are pretty obscure. Only an advanced Thaumaturge would understand it."

He skimmed through the volumes but found nothing he didn't already have. Then he spotted something. *cocks head*

"Ars Magica? This is a Mage's book. Vampires have no use for this. True Magick is denied to us because we lack an Avatar."

Scipoten removed the book from the shelf and opened it in the middle. It really is Ars Magica, one of the first books neonate Mages read. He put the book back on the shelf and walked around the room looking at things through Auspex and Thaumaturgical Sight. He saw myriad sparkles of magic throughout the haven.

William: if you can place a date on the newest object you can see here, you know the date of her first torpor.

"The newest object? *shakes head* Unreliable. Unless she made the object herself that year, her latest find could have been a 3,000 year old artifact."

*continues browsing the haven*

"What is going on here?? I see traces of Quintessence, a trait exclusive to Mages... *quickly picks up an object* And this bracelet. It has an Umbral Tether tied to it, and the other end is tied to this pillar. Only a Lupine could do that. There is no way in hell you could get a Kuldonic Tzimisce, a Tremere, a Mage, and a Lupine all under the same roof."

*walks to the statue* The statue slightly glowed with sparkles of magic.

"The shield. It's similar to the symbol on your ring."

Scipoten thinks he has a lead on the mystery of Bloodywolf's ring and began browsing the room again looking for other objects with the symbol.

"Say, are there any other artifacts with that dragon on it? Or books you may have read with the dragon in it?"

Scipoten continued searching.

((I figured out a way for you to have an Avatar that passes through your line. ;)))

Scipoten went over and retrieved the book Bloodywolf pointed to. When Bloodywolf left the room the first time, Scipoten walked toward a desk and set the book down on it. He was about to open it when something caught his eye. Through Auspex, he spotted concentrated magic sparks on the wall that was partially covered by the desk. He slid the desk from the wall and found that the sparks formed the shape of a door, but standard vision only showed a wall.

Bloodywolf came back with the glasses and set them on the table before leaving again.

Using the higher levels of Auspex, Scipoten pierced the illusion and looked inside. He let out a small gasp. Disregarding the illusion, Scipoten stepped through the wall as Bloodywolf came back with the box. When Scipoten stepped forward, the wall vanished, revealing the passage.

"Wolf, check this out."

Bloodywolf saw what Scipoten had done and came over with a perplexed look while still holding the box.

"Seems that your sire has quite a few secrets."

Scipoten had his eyes on a very specific object. As the pair stepped forward, they suddenly felt a barrier and could not enter the adjacent room.

"Damn. Ward Versus Kindred. This will NOT stop me."

Scipoten was unusually determined to enter, but neither he nor Bloodywolf could. Scipoten looked in the upper corners of the room. Easy. He spotted an iron coin with a symbol on it. He threw his ritual dagger at it and it easily pierced through the coin. Scipoten walked into the room and used Movement of the Mind to retrieve his dagger. He pointed at the upper corners of the room. Each had a coin with a different symbol on it.

"Ward Versus Ghouls, Ward Versus Lupines, Ward Versus Mages, and what used to be the Ward Versus Kindred. There is some serious fucking security in here, and I can see why."

The room was small, with only a long table pushed against the wall. On the table lay documents, a dark mirror, a sword, and a couple of other items. Externally, Scipoten seemed calm and collected, but on the inside, he was ready to explode from excitement. He delicately picked up a fragile piece of parchment.

"This is a fragment from the Book of Nod!"

*looks at the mirror*
"The Cloraustrum... the Prison of the Souls...!"

Scipoten was whispering to contain his excitement, but traces of enthusiasm could be detected in his voice. He laid the parchment down then calmly (truely calm this time) picked up the sword. It was a short, straight, double-edged sword that was tarnished through time and its edge somewhat dulled. He slowly speaks to Wolf.

"This is the Conquistador's Sword. *pauses* I've been looking for this for centuries. This passed through the hands of Samuel Haight, but his greed got him killed. The sword was thought to have been truly lost after that."

Scipoten paused for a long while and thought. His eyes lit up.

"I understand. I've answered the riddle as to why this haven contains Kuldonic Sorcery, Thaumaturgy, True Magic, and Lupine Gifts. Give me this sword, and I'll accept this as sole payment for the forging of your sword... and answer the riddle of this haven."

((with the sword you mean that spanish guy who mistreated the mayans?))

William: Book of nod? We had a piece from the book of nod in the haven?

Wolf: your dumb or deff, what you think that is...

*looks at the sword, his sire kept this protected for a reason, but it was only one of many objects, probably protection versus collectors*

William: you tellin' me why a malkavian, pretty but as crazy as a loon, has the ability to create all this?

Wolf: Just take the damn sword, and start talking.

william: Wolf... I don't think master wou...

Wolf: masters sleeping, and I'm bored and dying to know what the hell she did here.

((A conquistador is any Spanish conqueror. You are thinking of Hernándo Cortés, but there were many others. This sword is unrelated to them.))

((The Conquistador's Sword is an actual sword in the Werewolf books, but they only briefly mentioned it and they didn't say what ended up happening to it.))

"No, she didn't create all of this, but she has made some of them, which normally would be way beyond someone like her. Give me a minute."

Scipoten held the centuries-old sword in his left hand and held the hilt of his own sword in his right hand. Many segments, much like razors, shot out of the hilt and fused together to form the sword.

"I call this... the Wraith's Bane."

His arms then took on a ghostly visage as he gripped the blades of the swords themselves. Black blood flowed down the blade of the Conquistador's Sword, which was actually Corpus from his soul. In a few moments, the Conquistador's Sword became translucent and nearly disappeared. Then it fully solidified and returned to its normal appearance. Scipoten then gripped both swords, causing both red and black blood to flow down both blades. His arms then returned back to normal without the ghostly visage but the blades began to glow. The Conquistador's Sword glowed with a crimson red aura and the Scipoten's sword actually "glowed" black, but the Wraith's Bane's aura moved on its own, as though it was alive.

Scipoten dropped the Conquistador's Sword on the ground but it didn't bounce. He then let go of the Wraith's Bane but it just floated there, pointing towards and hovering over the Conquistador's Sword. The aura of the Wraith's Bane formed tendrils that extended from the blade and hilt, and just above the hilt, a vague formation of a face could barely be seen. The "face", if that is what it could be called, "looked" down at the slightly glowing sword laying below it. The Wraith's Bane raised up nearly to the ceiling and swiftly shot down, hitting the broad side of the Conquistador's Sword with it's tip. The Conquistador's Sword fractured, creating many small cracks up and down the sword, even the hilt was covered with cracks, and every fissure glowed with a very bright red light.

The aura of the Conquistador's Sword began to travel upwards to the Wraith's Bane and the black tendrils of the Wraith's Bane exteneded downward and covered the metal between each of the cracks, turning the metal black and dulling the red light. Eventually, the red light was snuffed out and the sword exploded, shattering into dozens of fragments that glowed with a blinding red light that slowly dulled and turned black. The Wraith's Bane now glowed with the crimson red aura that the Conquistador's Sword once held. The fragements then turned back into its old steel color as the tendrils retracted back into the blade. The "face" also disappeared as the tendrils shrank. In a few more moments, the red aura also disappeared into the blade and the sword continued to suspend itself until Scipoten gripped it once more. The weight of the  sword returned and Scipoten retracted the blade back into the hilt with a shink! and put it back in its brace/holster/strap on his lower back above his belt.

"My sword can absorb the powers of other weapons and artifacts when I do this."

"And now to answer the riddle."

((Is the suspense killing you yet?))

Scipoten: "And now to answer the riddle."

!Crack!

The wooden doll Wolf was holding broke in train, soon his finger broke aswell, making him curse his luck in his weakened state and causing him to stop his speaking looking at the finger.

Wolf: "Continue"

Scipoten crossed is wrists, open palms facing down with closed fingers. The shattered pieces of metal traveled in the air toward his palms and floated beneath them. He then quickly spread his arms outward. As he extended his arms, the pieces of metal realigned itself and fused together with its peers under his hands, mending the sword. The now-powerless Conquistador's Sword was restored, at least aesthetically. Scipoten held the sword and looked down the length of the blade.

"This is nothing more than a cudgel now, but it makes for a nice antique--well, not that it had much killing power to begin with. The Conquistador's Sword is--was--the secret behind her power. While it didn't have any unique abilities that augmented its killing power, this sword had the ability to transfer the powers of ANY being killed by this sword to the wielder. The sword disappeared centuries ago before it turned up again recently.

"Samuel Haight was the last known wielder of the Conquistador's Sword and used it to rip away the powers of Vampires, Mages, Lupines, and who knows what else. He also carried another item with him, the Staff of the World Tree, that temporarily blocked Paradox, the downside of being a Mage. His lust for power blinded him, however, and he awoke a Methuselah to take his power. The ensuing battle put too much strain on his Staff and it broke, releasing all the Paradox it stored within it into Samuel. It more than just killed him, he actually ceased to exist--anywhere. The Sword, however, disappeared with the Methuselah.

"Your sire has held this sword twice, once before her long torpor, and once after. There is just one problem, however, with Kindred using this sword. The Spheres of True Magic that Mages wield is powered by their Avatars. Most of the wielders were either Mages or Lupines, both are living beings that an Avatar may reside in, though a Lupine with an Avatar must attain one through alternative supernatural means, such as with this sword. However, Kindred are unliving, undieing beings in which Avatars refuse to reside."

*picks up mirror*

"That is where the Cloraustrum comes in. This is a mirror that has the ability to trap the souls of beings within it, whether Lupine, human, Wraith, or whatever. That also includes Mages with their Avatars. It was first made by a Mage, then stolen by a Tremere, then stolen by a Cappadocian, and finally lost to time, or so many of us Thaumaturges thought. If a Kindred could kill a Mage with the Conquistador's Sword and immediately trap the Mage's soul, and more importantly, the Avatar, the Kindred could effectively use the Spheres of Magic just like a Mage."

Scipoten put both the mirror and the sword on the table and deeply thought for a few minutes.

"There is just one thing I can't figure out. I'm pretty sure that is what your sire is doing... but she would need some sort of link to the mirror to take advantage of the power within it. Furthermore, the Avatar(s) within would have to be forced into helping her. And the link to the mirror would have to be exceptionally strong as it would channel the Spherical power back and forth between the mirror and herself.

"Now that the Conquistador's Sword is no more, at least not what it used to be, your sire will have to work a bit harder if she wants more power, such as reading and applying Ars Magica."

Scipoten said this last sentence with disgust in his voice. He thought about the centuries, even mellenia of study; the countless diableries; tracking down obscure books; wrenching secrets from other clans; extorting spirits, wraiths, and demons using their True Names against them, causing them to send either Lupines or the Devil Eaten after him--and all this woman had to do was wave a sword around a few times to become as powerful as himself. Scipoten was more than a little displeased, but ultimately, he wasn't sure if he wanted to congratulate her or smash the mirror in front of him, putting an end to at least a quarter of her power.

((Man you like to steal powers don't ya? Downgrading my sire :-p I figured out a way to explain wolf's anchient relation to the past, its that simple you might overlook it, but I'll see what that mindset of yours has to offer.))

Wolf: "In other words, you just destroyed her powerleveling tool. intresting, but I do last recall that she no longer aims for it, I do wonder, what does this avatar have to do with me?"

William notices the disguest in Scipotens voice

Will: "Who said that it has anything to do with you?"

*Looks to scipoten*

William: "You do not aprove her ways of graining strength, mather of fact, if what you say is true, you just took the very same power into your blade. I beleave, if you found the sword first, wouldn't you have used it? My sire is a malkavian Scipoten, don't forget that, I don't beleave she would have been capable of doing all the things you did."

Wolf: "Don't become the wise one William, and for you: what do you think your any better now you got the blades power? Go the same path as her, tssk, warlocks, always the same. Then I guess you don't need these"

*Takes a couple of old looking books back into the black box and brings them away and returns a few moments later*

Wolf: "I and Will had a small chat, before you ask for anything, you shall explain us what it does and what connection it has. Nothing hastime, but my sire hides things for a reason."

((There is only three ways to gain power in WoD: study/training, given/traded power, and stolen power. Scipoten has relied mostly on study/training and stolen power. In the case of the Kindred, there is virtually no such thing as a "gift", except between sire and childe. Everything else has strings attached, so it must be either traded or stolen.))

"Yeah, I have the blade's power now. It's just... I always had to fight for my power. I spent over 1,000 years as an immortal human perfecting my sorcery trying to awaken my own Avatar only to be captured by my clan-to-be and brought before Tremere himself since I was immortal yet still human. Goratrix wanted to Embrace me when he found out how I became immortal as a human because he was impressed, but Tremere was wroth. He had given up his abilities as a Mage for immortality as a vampire, only to find out that someone that wasn't even a Mage, just a Sorcerer, had unlocked the secret nearly 600 years before he was born. He ordered that I be Embraced by the weakest of the clan in the area. My sire was an idiot in a coterie led by a self-deluded fool. The Embrace twisted and broke my lifeline, turning me into a vampire. It stripped me of over 1,000 years of work and put me at the bottom of the food chain in one of the most hated clans of the time.

"Thankfully, my experience as a Sorcerer granted me a deeper understanding of Thaumaturgy. And Goratrix secretly supported me and granted me permission to to commit the Aramanth one more than one occasion, but he could not help me openly without bringing Tremere's wrath again. Goratrix allowed me more working room for "indiscretions", but I still had to do most of it on my own. Now I find out your sire is able to do in a few years what it took me mellenia to accumulate. I dunno, maybe I should applaud her."

Wolf: "I and Will had a small chat, before you ask for anything, you shall explain us what it does and what connection it has. Nothing hastime, but my sire hides things for a reason."

William: "Not the real thing, but if I look at your behaviour, I noticed you didn't see the barrier before you came into cantact with it, considering the factor of your magical history, and your abilities today, almost equal with my sire, chances are that she might only look at the coin, seeing it intact, and the sword still in place."

Scipoten shrugged his shoulders. He was going to offer to recreate the effects of the ritual, but if Bloodywolf thought that this was all that was needed, he wasn't going to push. *shows a box with several colored potions*

"Lets see, we got... invisablity, atleast thats how I translated them, ehh, some sort of healing, a thing described as mana."

*shows a dark straw doll*

"Looks like some kind of voodoo doll to me, but it seems to hurt the one that holding it, maybe some suicide ting, I dunno."

((remember I said Wolf is a guy from the war lead by dracula, one of his souldiers))

*Grabs a book and freezes movement for a second*

Wolf: "Me"

"Yes, as wolf said, I think this might have created wolf, its some sort of hand written diary about a soldier named William, like me, but he never mentioned his last nampe, maybe cause last names were only made cause of Napoleon, he seems to be some sort of crusader like guard direcly under command if Vlad himself during several ways, he's sposidly a young farmed whose family was attacked by the turks, he escaped, wounded and almost dying, only to cross path with the lord himself as he was on the ground dying from bloodloss. The diary began during his farming days, so the whole even is described here, the lord picked him up, let some servants nurse him and placed him in his army. Due to the debt the boy had, He chose him to do some kind of scouting job, wich succeeded, as reward he was placed directly under vlad's personal group of soldiers who listened only to what he said or osmething, you know some private guards, who are the last between the eneamy and their lord in a fight."

William opened the book and the pages were old, very old, some were covered with bloodprints, or prints made from a bloodied hand. Some parts were even written with blood, as like the person wouldn't dare not to write down a day of his life. The writing first started as a mess, with spelling mistakes all around, and the farther it progressed, the writing became more elegants, flawwless and more was written.

"Thats not all, the father the book goes, the darker the bright personality of the boy, or should I say man evolves, there are many covert operation written here, assasinations he was guity of, even... Almost to the end of the diary, My sire is described... Atleast I think its her, everything matches, even the drawing."

William points to a small drawing of a young, elegant looking woman, she looked to be around her 20ty's with long ((how do I say this)) rounded hair, smiling, but the smile had 2 fangs.

"Then the entries became less frequent, around the time the visitor of vlad, my sire, met William himself, suddenly, the diary doesn't describe everything anymore, all it mentioned are dayle events like, I fed my horse, or another horse died in my protection, or I saw a turn bleeding to death when we cleaned the battleground and such... I read most of the stories since for some strange reason its written in english..."

*courius, when you look at the texst, its definitly not english*

"After I finished the book, My sire found out I was reading it, kind of distressed, she put it away, never saw it again till I found this box 2 weeks ago, It didn't happen until a week after I finished the book, that Wolf appeared in my head, and after another one, we became bodysharers, wich you can only see who is in command by our eyes for some weird reason."

Wolf: "You forgot to mention the very end..."

"Ohh, yes, the end... the last lines were written: I hear voices now, I can't describe it, My lord is gone, my friends are dead, my only comfort now is... Well  he never mentioned what the comfort is but... I think its related to my sire... cause of voices..."

((Sorry for the late reply, but I had to read your post five times to understand what you were saying.))

"Vlad Tepes..."

Scipoten spoke his name with reverence and a bit of pride.

"Vlad was a very honorable man, and still is. Most say he was a bloodthirsty butcher, but those who met him or know his story know just how respectable he truly is."

*looks at Bloodywolf*

"And I understand more about the origins of your ring now because of that book."

*looks up at the ceiling and thinks back for a minute*

"Vlad Dracula and Vlad Dracul, Dracula's father, were both apart of the Order of the Dragon, an enigmatic and militaristic organization dedicated to eradicating enemies of the Church, both natural and supernatural. They bestow various insignias and/or items upon their members that other members can identify them by, all of which bear the symbol of a dragon. Dracul carried a sword and medallion given to him by the order, and when he was assassinated, they were passed on to Dracula. Dracula was a brilliant strategist, turning the Holy Roman Empire's and Ottoman Empire's armies against each other in Wallachia, what is now Romania. His brutal and darkly humorous practices only served as fear tactics. Impaling entire villages and defeated armies and leaving them there instilled fear in future invaders as they would see 'a forest of dead.' *chuckles* Or when he demanded that the Muslims remove their turbans while they were in his land. When they refused, he told them that he would help them keep their tradition and ordered that their turbans be nailed to their heads. *chuckles again*"

"His blood-drinking habits began when he and his Honor Guard ((those are the guards that protect the king or lord himself)) captured Tzimisce vampires and drained them of their blood. While the Tzimisce did not appreciate the abuse of their neonates, they did respect him for his brilliancy and ferocity. Vlad's Honor Guard, however, were exclusively members of the Order of the Dragon. William must have been brought into the Order of the Dragon when he proved his prowess, thus becoming one of the Honor Guard. At the end of his life, Vlad and his Honor Guard fought a Sabbat pack and managed to capture the two eldest in the pack, a pair of Tzimisce, the eldest in torpor and the younger badly wounded. Vlad forced the conscious Tzimisce to Embrace him followed by Vlad diabolizing his grandsire, the one in torpor. He then made his Honor Guard into his ghouls and finished his war."

"I don't know where your sire plays into all of this. Vlad Tepes took the advice of Durga Syn at one time when he was mortal. Durga Syn was a Ravnos vampiress who advised his father. On the Kindred side of things during this time, the Anarch Rebellion had just collapsed because of the Brujah betrayal, and the Camarilla and Sabbat fought ferociously for control over Europe. The squabbles of human affairs meant little to the Kindred. Hmm... Maybe your sire took an interest in this man for reasons only a Malkavian would understand. But why would your sire be in Wallachia at this time? It was Sabbat territory. A Camarilla spy into the Sabbat perhaps?"

Scipoten cocked an eyebrow when Bloodywolf pointed out that the journal he was holding was written in English.

"William, look at the text closely. It is written in Romanian."

"...or she could have been Sabbat herself at the time. Malkavian antitribu are among the most fearful of all Malkavians in the clan. Their insanity pushes the boundaries, even for Malks. Might explain her unusually strong psychosis."

"But if he was embraced to be a Tsimice, what would explain the voices?"

"As I recall, Vlad made his Honor Guard into ghouls for a time until he grew disinterested in human affairs. He left everything behind and bounced back and forth between the Camarilla and Sabbat, enjoying his discussions with the intelligent elders of the Camarilla but desiring the freedom of the Sabbat until he heard about and sought out the Innocu. I know nothing of what happened to his Honor Guard, but I do know that Vlad Tepes did not Embrace any of them. His only childe is Lucy Westenra, but that was centuries later."

"William may have been starving for vampire blood when Vlad abandoned his Honor Guard and your sire came and Embraced him. If this happened and he is dead, or worse, still alive, and you have read his journal-- boy that would put any sire in great distress."

William started to laugh.

"I don't think that when your childer has a personality created from this journal does much good."

Scipoten began to laugh as well.

"No I suppose it doesn't. But I wonder..."

Scipoten thought for a few minutes.

Wolf: "I wonder, do ghouls from another clan, and get embraced by another keep their abilities from the first clan?"

Scipoten broke from his thoughts and looked at Wolf.

"Uh yeah. Yeah. Whatever abilities a ghoul learns, the knowledge stays with the ghoul for the rest of his life. Even if he loses his supply of vitae, he still knows how to perform the Discipline but has no way to "power" it. If he is made into a ghoul again or is Embraced, the ghoul can once again use that ability, regardless of clan. If such a ghoul is Embraced, he can even continue to progress to higher levels of that Discipline. Celerity, Potence, and Fortitude are easily learned in this fashion. Some Disciplines, however, are too complex to learn by oneself, such as Animalism or Vicissitude. The basics of Vicissitude, like flesh- and bone-crafting, can be figured out without a teacher, but Horrid Form or Inner Essence is virtually impossible to perform without a teacher's initial guidance."

((Say how long you planning on staying, you changed my heaven into a chantry after all, I think there might be a room to stay :-p ))

((Actually, I didn't change this haven into a Chantry at all. The description you gave perfectly fits medieval Chantries used by the Tremere. Besides, don't you have one in New York closer to the bar anyway?))

William: "Say Scipoten, you were planning to play this teleport mirror here no? Or are you planning on forcing me to drive you here every time you come to visite good ol' me."

Wolf: "I don't mind that, atleast if you use the speed thing again and make William suffer and insult you in dutch, german, french and english in his mind. but of course, would be handier to travel from here to Rainmoons club by mirror aswell."

Scipoten grabbed a glass and poured himself a drink. With the drink in hand, he walked over to a mostly bare wall somewhat close to the entrance. His skin turned a light shade of red as he used some of his blood for magic. One of his hands dimly glowed as he placed his hand flat against the wall. The wall's color and texture changed and began to twist into a new shape at the edges. The center changed into a reflective surface while the edges formed a beautiful frame. In a little over 10 seconds, he finished the very attractive mirror.

"I only need one. I can travel to any mirror close by or to any mirror in the world that I have traveled to before."

Scipoten leisurely finished his drink and strode over to the table.

"Well I'm off. I still need to complete your sword. I'm sure Lutainius has finished the enhancements to it that I instructed him to perform. As I said, I'll do the Bloodweb and other higher-end enhancements myself."

Scipoten set the empty glass on the table. His eyes glowed orange for a second and a slight smirk cracked on his face as he looked at nothing in particular.

"...and visit someone..."

He walked over over to the mirror and touched the glass. The mirror reacted with the familiar sight that resembled suspended liquid. Scipoten looked back at Bloodywolf and his features had returned to their normal appearance.

"I'll be back tomorrow. Get some rest."

Scipoten faced the mirror.

*Grabs the bottle and drinks it while walking towards his room, While he does have a secnd heaven close to town, he still regulary lives here, but the problem is that its loced so far of civilisation*

Wolf: "Good thing Isabell made shure that the people around here compleatly think its haunted here."

William: "Not like your making anything better to change that..."

Wolf: "Hey, its your body, not my fault you got them scared when they met you during night."

William: "They met you."

*Opens a black metal door that had the carvings of a Wolf on it*

William: "Say, you trust the warlock compleatly? I mean he did just gained the power to become more powerfull, and dispises our sire now."

Wolf: "Anyone who touches our sire deals with me, and you. But why did we take a Katana again? I fell soo much more comfortable with a broadsword..."

William: "One, A katana is easeyer to swing, more agile, takes less room, deadlier and its easeyer to hide in a walking stick or such. Two, we can explain a brand new katana more easely then a brand new broadsword. Besides, we can get a broadsword, theres still that enchanter that owes us one in the back alley, remember."

Scipoten stepped through the mirror and returned to his Chantry in Antarctica. He went to the Weapon Forge area and enchanted Bloodywolf's katana. The Bloodweb enhancement didn't work out the way he expected so he made a slight alteration to the location of it on the sword so that it would work. After several hours, he succeeded in creating and perfecting the katana. It was an excellent sword with a sharp edge that will never dull, virtually unbreakable steel, black, has the one-of-a-kind Bloodweb, and it does Aggravated damage.

Scipoten held the sword and inspected it when he finished.

"Perfect."

Scipoten sheathed the katana and set it in the center of his work table and headed back to his transportation mirror. Nearly 18 hours had passed and he wanted to check out a new bar he had heard about before delivering Bloodywolf his weapon.

...

Scipoten popped out of his mirror back at his Chantry, retrieved the katana, and went back to Bloodywolf's haven. A new night had just started in New York and Bloodywolf was likely awake. When Scipoten arrived, he found that his assumption was correct. Bloodywolf was having breakfast drinking a large container of blood.

"Wolf! Here's your katana with all the specifications. I had to alter the Bloodweb a little to make it work. Having the niches on the broad sides of the blade only slowed the blade as it strikes, getting hung up on flesh and clothing. Instead, I put the niches on the back of the blade on the inside of the curve opposite the edge. This still allows the Bloodweb's existence without slowing the blade's strike."

Scipoten quickly placed the sheathed katana on the table and continued:

"You love to fight right? Come on! I need you to thrash a bar..."

Scipoten headed back to the mirror and touched the glass, making it shimmer again.

Wolf: "How long can those chairs keep alive by the way?"

"Forever, as long as I keep the vampire that is apart of the chairs fed."

*stops for a second and looks at Scipoten*

William: "Scip, you ever had trouble with the sociaty of Leopold? You know, those fanatics?"

"Well... yes, in a certain sense. The Society is just the modern face of the Inquisition, who went underground like the Kindred. I've dealt with Inquisition in the Middle Ages, the Burning Times, and their greatest strength was the numbers of the oppressed people that got up to fight we night-stalkers. It is the whole reason that the Camarilla and Sabbat formed and now follow the Masquerade. Since then, however, the people forgot about us and the Inquisition lost its jaws. Now they have the power of technology, which makes them individually a minor threat. If you ever come across one, just kill it and keep walking. Most have no special abilities or any great strength, but don't give it the opportunity stab you in the back. They can be annoying when they want to be."

Lutainius appeared out of one of the corridors.

Lutanius: "Master, Sheaffer just called. Clearwater is dead."

Scipoten: "WHAAAT?!"

Scipoten quickly regained his composure, but he was still seething a little. This was not his usual self.

Scipoten: "What happened?"

Lutainius: "Sheaffer and the others went to Clearwater's house, where they found him lying dead in the living room with an antique dagger in his chest."

Scipoten: "Do they know who did it? Someone is on to us..."

Lutanius: "No. But using The Spirit's Touch on the dagger did reveal that he owned the dagger himself and that it was a surprise attack."

Scipoten: *sigh* "Ok tell them to freeze the body and keep the dagger. I have to pull some strings."

*turns to Bloodywolf*

William: "You're in a hurry."

Wolf: "He and his bitch did try to kill us, no?"

William: "Good point."

*Walks towards the Room where Marid was kept, Passing all the rooms he once visited, the living room, the "Store a body" room? The fleshwall jail, wich he picked up Marid and dragged him towards a joinging room*

William placed him in nearby chair with chains. He then takes his sword, enlightens the tip and gives him a short touch to wake him up and places the blade back in his Shead.

Wolf: "Rise and shine sleepy head. Death has its plans for you tonight. The songs of the fallen angers already reach thee. Thou shalt not kill, says the bible, but if men do not kill, where in the fun. Sir Marid. How mandy didst thou cleave in twain for some blood or gold. I dun care."

((Thoughts))

William: "Whats with the old accent?"

Wolf: "I found it apropriete, since he is one of the older kindred."

((Gonne add a lil storytelling if you don't mind.))

Marid: "William the bloody, ghoul of the Dragon."

William: "I don't thi.."

Wolf: "True and untrue, as you see, I am not a ghoul, nor a knight neymore. I'm a reincarnation, lets say stronger then both. Judgement day pretty boy."

((By coincedance, William looks the same then the old one other then the haircut and scars))

Before Marid could response, Wolf trusted a wooden stake trough his heart and bit down, making him feel all the agony but unable to response. This time however William kept looking.

When his fanger came into contact with marids neck, the mans eyes displayed the horror, as he was funny cautius about what was to happen to him. The coppery taste of blood soon changed to a simmilar taste of huney, as Bloodywolf's body had been unsated ever since the barfight, not having enough time to drink enough to satisfy his hunger before the police showed up.

Soon, Marids blood was running out, and gave no more, and then wolf felt the life's energy coming out, its like a small spark on the right places, The feeling entranced him and he kept feeding. Piece by peace, Marid was no more. After a while, all that remained of marid was an empty corpse wich soon withered to dust, Wolf closed his eyes in delight as he pulled away from the assimite. He felt a sort en adrenaline rush as his blood strenghtened, his muscles improves, his vision no longer required his glasses to look properly and his controll over the beast became stronger.

But then came the vampiric nature taking revenge for this betrayal. But this time wolf anticipated the coming of the beast and fought to it. While wolf was sitting on a nearby chair consentrating. It took him a half hour before he could subside the beast into a basic controll again, and another 15 minutes before he was shure it was over. Leaving a room ripped and teared of the intern struggle

((William Wolvenheart: -1 gen, Disciplines: Celerity and Quietus))

William: "I hope that scipoten has some backup furniture?"

Wolf: "What for? He would jump in delight with creating another living chair..."

William: "True, now, lets get some decent clothes shall we? We should visite our heaven before going on the mind study. Or maybe the lock has some wonderus fix your clothes spell."

Wolf: "How so?"

William: "You ever see him in ripped clothes?"

You gained Celerity and Quietus because he is Assamite [you never had Celerity to begin with, you have Necromancy]. And everything you listed are Thaumaturgical Paths, not Disciplines. It is highly unlikely that that Assamite knew any of that, and even if he did, it wouldn't make a difference because Paths are not passed on through the blood, they are learned through tomes and teachers. You should also keep in mind that you have to put effort into perfecting a Discipline, you don't immediately gain 5 dots in any Discipline, nor do you just spend a day or so practicing it and then get 5 dots. ((LOL You'll still have to be careful Bloodywolf. You may be 7th gen now, but Azrael has the advantage of being an Elder with all that XP. 6-dot Disciplines are now open to you, but you need approximately one metric ton of XP to raise any Discipline to that level. This does include Dementation.))

"Well, I asked for Scipoten, this is where he must be..."

((Shit... I'm sorry for not explaining how the ring works when I gave it to you. You can only travel to nearby mirrors within a few blocks of your starting point if you have not visited them, or to any mirror in the world that you have previously visited. Apparently, I brought you here once before, heh heh... welcome...))

((Oh for those that might wonder, I'm experimenting with referring to myself in the first and third persons to see which sounds better.))

Even before Azrael used the Summons, I immediately knew a stranger had entered, but I didn't know who it was. The Cauldron's Rede of The Hearth Path I cast long ago gave this Chantry limited sentience and would inform me of danger ((like an unexpected visitor, an escaping Kindred from his cell, a fire breaking out in the alchemical chambers, etc.)). This is my most fortified haven/Chantry in the world after all. I quickly turned to Bloodywolf.

"Someone's here."

I immediately activated Celerity and left Wolf behind, dashing to the Defense room to see if my Chantry was being attacked. Then I felt the Summons.

"Friend? Or foe calling me out?" I thought.

In the Defense Room, Azrael stepped forward and looked around. He had only been here once before, but it was as cold as ever, even for the dead that normally don't mind it. As he stepped forward, two shadows moved and darted about on the walls of the room. One could instinctively tell that this was NOT the best place to be, but the room was sealed off from the rest of the Chantry. Azrael hesitantly took another step forward and noticed that one shadow moved directly in front of him and knew what it was. The ground welled up and Azrael took a couple steps back. The rock formation took shape into a horrific, stony, winged creature that stood over 12 feet tall (a little less than 4 meters) and towered over Azrael. A gravely voice spoke to him.

"Alejandre... we were not informed that you were ever welcomed back. I can only assume that your feud with our master has escalated and that you are now his enemy. You intrude on master's property. I count to 10 - you leave or I feed the earth with your entrails. One 10."

Azrael could only stammer at the hulking, dreadful Gargoyle. A Gargoyle's skin is made of stone that is nigh-impervious to gunfire and most other standard weapons. Plus they have both Fortitude and Potence. The other shadow now disappeared too. Where did it go?
Title: Re: A study of the mind
Post by: Azrael of the Rose on 2006-12-05, 11:51:53
Azrael stands stock still as he stares up at the garoyle. "oh yeah..." he thought "i remember this now...shit". Knowing it was useless to try to reason with a gargoyle, and that bullets to almost nothing, Azrael added a note of urgency to his summons, and, hoping scipoten was at least watching, spoke.

"Umm...truce?"

The gargoyle began to count back from ten.

"Scipoten, if your even listening, I need your help, things are a bit sticky in LA and...well...I know how much you hate setites, so...i figured I'd...*grudging*...ask for your help...."

Azrael finds it incredibly difficult to speak eloquently in the face of serious danger, and, mumbling curses to himself in portuguese, he prepares to activate celerity and jump back through the mirror at a moments notice. the gargoyles countdown was nearly done.

"Gargoyle: 3....2....."
Title: Re: A study of the mind
Post by: Slayden on 2006-12-05, 21:21:29
((Actually, the Gargoyle just said "One, ten", skipping 2-9. I quoted that part from the books, hehe. They aren't very patient, fiercely loyal, and don't let enemies get away. The warning is more of a formality to horrify their target.))

((Tremere can send a telepathic message to any of their clan in the city calling for help. It's not a Path or a Ritual, it is just something that Fledglings are taught shortly after their Embrace. That is yet another reason we are so dangerous. Mess with one and he can't handle it, he's gonna call the rest of us who can. I know of no other clan that does this. Screw it, let's say you figured out how to recreate the effects by combining Auspex 4 [Telepathy, but you must be near to use it] and Presence 4 [Summon] to send out a telepathic distress call over long distances.))

As Azrael sent out his message to me, fingers slowly extended out of the floor immediately behind him, then they shot forward and grabbed Azrael by the ankles.

"Wha...?!!!"

He struggled to break free, but his efforts were in vain. The hands that held him extended into arms out of the stone floor, then a head behind that, followed by a neck and shoulders connecting them. This continued until the second Gargoyle was half-way out of the floor, at which point he quickly pulled back, sweeping Azrael's feet from under him and held him upside-down as the Gargoyle finished separating from the floor. The Gargoyle now held Azrael by one ankle high in the air so that he came face-to-face with the demonic-looking creature, complete with glowing red eyes. The Gargoyle bared his clenched fangs and just growled. They were less than 6 inches from each others' faces.

In the middle of his growling, the Gargoyle halted and looked away. After a moment, he nodded and dropped Azrael to the ground.

"Oof!"

He landed flat on his back and it knocked the wind out of him.

THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!

One of the Gargoyles walked away into the wall. The wall formed the outline of his body that could only be described as a shadow and disappeared. The other Gargoyle jumped high and took off in flight. If Azrael was standing, he would have been knocked off his feet by the wind generated from the sheer power of that Gargoyle's wings. The Gargoyle flew high up to a ledge, landed, and crouched there, waiting.

The symbol on the huge double doors on the other side of the room glowed brightly then subsided. The doors opened with a loud rattling sound as they slid open then a bang when they were full parted. I stood there, staring at Azrael, but I had also just sent out my own telepathic message to Lutainius and called him to me. It would take him a little time to come to me from wherever he is in this large Chantry.

"No, my guards were doing exactly what they were supposed to do. I really can't blame them for attacking you considering our--loud--contention the last time you were here."

"Oh. Him. Lovely.  Regardless, unless you want the Setites to take control of LA en masse, you'll stop doing whatever it is your doing and come with me."

"Settites don't conquer, they infest. They like to cohabit with other Cainites and corrupt them, twisting their views to fall in line with their dark "god" Set, the Settite Antediluvian. At the very least, they will manipulate Kindred and Kine alike like marionettes to further whatever goals they have, and if it corrupts others in the process, all the better. But if they have enough power to challenge the other Sects... no, something isn't right. Very well, I'll come check it out."

*mumbles* "I'll have to pull strings in Chicago from L.A. I guess."

*turns to Lutainius*

"Lutaius, take my weapon to the Alchemical Chantry. I haven't been able work on it yet and it is useless to me until I do. Do NOT release the sword from its hilt."

*hands Lutainius the Wraith's Bane*

"Eeeerrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!"

Lutainius let out a piercing scream the moment he touched the hilt of my sword. His eyes turned solid black, black veins appeared all over his body, and a slight red aura began to emanate from him.

*rat tat tat tat tat tat tat*

*ZIP*

Lutainius released the sword and shot it at me, but I caught it at the cord between two of the razors before it hit my chest.

*SHHHHHH*

*Hiss*

The sword completely burned away the flesh on my left hand, exposing the bones. I then attacked him with my right hand and clawed across his neck, hurdling him back. Lutainius simply got back up, his neck half-severed. The Gargoyle jumped down and landed with a CRASH! behind Lutainius.

"He should be dead... Forgive me Lutainius. You've been a faithful servant." I said.

Lutainius spun around and in the blink of an eye, he slashed at the Gargoyle, ripping open his stomach and causing him to step back with a roar. Lutainius then jumped high and performed an upward slash, cutting off one of the Gargoyle's wings. Lutainius was empowered by the sword, both mentally and physically. He landed a short distance away from us and faced our group. Black tendrils seemed to hold his head in place where I deeply slashed open his neck.

William watches as the ghoul gets posessed by the blade, attacking the gargoyles.

Wolf: "Aww shit, we still haven't even changed clothes yet..."

William: "Yes the horror that the ghoul didn't give us a temp change before GETTING ABOUT TO KILLED?!"

Wolf: "Meh!"

William grabbed his sword while wolf took over. He placed his hand on the hilt, instantly spreading his blood over the blade, but he didn't lightened it.

Wolf: "Scipoten, Tell me what to do, Unless you wanne get a zulu out."

*Snikkers shortly but stops as his movement freezed, you could see his eyes dull and changed into bright purple, he started to speak with 2 voices mixed in each other, almost like the dark voice of Bloodywolf was echoing in demonic rage behind the bright voice of William*

Wolliam ((WIP)): "Shall we stop this maddness now warlock? Thy ghoul might be affected by your blood, hence the blade finding the man a perfect vessle to use, and acces to your thremere blood. Ofcourse, speculations."

*enflamess his blade, but not at the top, as he was saving the blood for something*

Wolliam: "A dragon breath can be that warm it alone might burn thee without further notice, wourse if your one of the cursed fallen. But once a dragon strengthens his breath strong enough to burn trough man and stone, survivability is Zero."

((Don't misjudge this, I'm hoping that to make it like this that there is a true personality where there are hints that William and Wolf might be the result of a splitting as the mind does not accept a whole other personality. So heres the Real William The bloody from the diary, who is combat orientated, like wolf, but more focussed and comes out only at life threathening moments. Doesn't make me more powerfull, I just know how to utilise my powers better. But I am still neonate lvl))

"Ugh. why is it always ghouls?"

Azrael draws his beretta 9mm((i specified that earlier)) and activates celerity. Everything slows to a crawl. taking carefull aim, Azrael fires at the ghoul, three rounds flying towards his head like automatic fire.by the time they reach there target, Azrael moves to a different angle and fires three more rounds at his chest. He then deactivates celerity and watches as the opposing forces of the six bullets hit with such velocity, that the ghoul jerks akwardly and loses his footing, only the sword somehow keeping him from falling to the ground.

"theres your opening mage..."

((Berettas come in a variety of calibers, but the largest caliber pistols they manufacture are the .40 caliber and 9mm. Not even a .50 cal Desert Eagle could take off someone's head, well, the sniper rifles can, but no pistol. My cut only went as deep as his throat, I didn't sever the spine. Plus, the black tendrils are holding the front part of his neck down. This will not be easy.))

((Another thing is, your Celerity is way too fast. Even at level 5, you can only travel about 10-50 feet in one second [Athletics+Dexterity=normal running speed, then multiply by Celerity rating]. A .40 cal bullet travels at 1,280 feet per second, and a 9mm travels at 1,132 fps. This isn't The Matrix.))

((i demand celerity 6!))

((Then diabolize your way down to the 7th generation cuz that's the only way for you to get it. However, not even Celerity 10 could give you Matrix speed, not even the Antediluvians, not even Caine himself could outrun a bullet.))

I slice open my right middle finger with my sharp thumb nail and a very thin, almost invisible stream of blood shot out of the open wound. The stream, however, remained cohered with itself and didn't break apart, forming a sharp whip. When I released my whip, the stream shot forward into Lutainius just below his rib cage under his heart and pierced through the other side. I immediately pulled up and the stream cut from the center-left part of his chest up past his clavicle and free of his body.

His shoulder dropped to the side, revealing half of his heart, his lungs, and his intestines, a few of which spilled out. However, the tendrils worked quickly to pull him back together and he was merely slowed down.

While my whip was still above his shoulder (this happened very quickly), I flicked my wrist and sent a loop down the line in an attempt to take his head. As the loop neared him, he quickly and smoothly cut the loop in half, splitting my whip into three pieces. As Azrael repositioned himself for another attack, he watches in Celerity as the Blood Whip threads spin slowly toward the ground, then slowly boomerang back up to the main body of the whip and reconnect into another attack.

Without hesitation or surprise, I simply use the new position my whip was currently in as another opportunity for an attack. I shorten the cord, then lengthen and twist it to take off bits of flesh. I use Movement of the Mind to power a jump over him and pull off three attacks, ripping him open with five new wounds. I stopped my attack and stoically said:

"Lutainius. You know no fear. You feel no pain. You will keep attacking until someone utterly destroys you. Not simply kill. Destroy."

Lutainius charged at me and I spun around and did a full 360, whipping my sword around and tying the end around his foot, then pulled, sending his foot flying in another direction only to be sideswiped by the wounded Gargoyle while he was still falling. That unnerving sound of cracking bones could be heard from the action. The Gargoyle tackled him and slammed him against the wall, breaking more bones. A blade pierced through his back and the Gargoyle grabbed Lutainius and threw him in the air to be caught by the other Gargoyle who shot out of the wall and grabbed him, pummeling him as the Gargoyle flew higher. The Gargoyle on the ground grabbed his stomach as there was a glowing red hole through his torso.

The Gargoyle in the air released Lutainius when he tried to attack her. As he fell, he whipped the Wraith's Bane upward and grazed the Gargoyle across her side. She flew to the stone wall and grabbed ahold, her right hand and foot became part of the wall and she looked down to watch the rest of the fight while holding her side with her left arm.

As Lutainius fell, I shot my Blood Whip up at him and pierced through his back, then pulled him down at least five times as fast toward myself. At the last moment, I spun and kicked back and straight up. His whole body seemed to wrap around my leg in an unnatural position as I broke his spine in two locations, one on either side of my foot. I shove him back and he rolls away while I pull and rip out my whip.

I waste no time and immediately whip again while he is on the ground.

*SNAP* *SNAP* *SNAP* *SNAP* *SNAP* *SNAP*

These are not little cuts, they are deep gashes comparable to what any sword could do. "His skin is pale. And he has long since stopped breathing." I thought. He tried to get up, but his skeletal structure could not support him and he floundered, but still gripping the sword literally with a death grip. He managed to get on his hands and knees and pointed the sword straight upward. Lightning, a kind of dark lightning, shot in all directions and hit everyone, including the Gargoyle high up on the wall.

As we all scramble to our feet, Lutainius began to cough up water as two Glabros literally appeared out of thin air.

"Why didn't you call us?" one of the Abominations said facing Lutainius and standing by me.

"You were not needed. I could do this myself. Besides, I'm the one that is responsible for this." I replied.

"It is an unnecessary risk. The Wraith's Bane is powerful enough to challenge even you."

He turns to me.

"He is already dead. You do not have to finish this by yourself."

I don't reply. I feel responsible for what happened to Lutainius and reflect on all those years of his faithful loyalty. He was a favored servant, a friend.

I curl my arm then straighten it out pointing up, the three-meter whip also pointing straight up and floating in the air, slightly undulating.

((oh right yeah, NO1 can outrun a bullet, but you can cut yourself and turn the blood coming out into a whip. MUCH more plausible.))

((My Blood Whip is actually just an alteration of Theft of Vitae, only it is using my own blood and I keep it cohesive like with Neptune’s Might. You see this is the advantage you have with a vast amount of WoD lore at your disposal. 8)))

((Also, the only reason I brought in the Abominations is I mentioned them on page 1 of this thread but have yet to present them. It would be unusual that such creatures roam these halls but don't come when there is an attack even though they are guards. I don't actually plan on using them.))

((yeah ill get right on that.))

Azrael, in a hurry, simotaneously activates auspex and celrity and, taking excruiatingly careful aim, shoots off the fingers of the ghouls sword hand one after the other. the sword drops to the ground with a disproportionatly heavy think, and Azrael deactivates his diciplines.

*to scipotens startled expression* "Can we be off now? That took forever."

*gasping*

*CLUNK*

I am very disappointed with this turn. I wanted to finish this myself, but Azrael did it instead.

"Thanks. Azrael."

Lutainius' body toppled over after dropping the sword. The black tendrils were still attached to the body, but without direct contact, the sword could do little more than make Lutainius' corpse twitch. I use Movement of the Mind to bring the Wraith's Bane to myself. The tendrils retract from Lutainius and try to attack me.

"Such an impudent sword."

Once again, I use Artomipsyce to slowly and forcefully push the tendrils back into the blade itself, then retract it.

*looks at Bloodywolf*
"He couldn't wield the sword simply because he didn't have the familiarity with the substance of spirits and souls that I do. A resurrected Wraith, a Cappadocian, a Giovanni, or a Nagaraja might be able to wield it, but this would happen to any others who even touch the sword."

*looks at Lutainius*
Interestingly though, his body is warped and the black veins still cover his body. I also sensed no soul depart. This would require further analysis.

*turns to the Abominations*
"You know what happened here. Use Movement of the Mind to take my sword back to... I'm not sure which Chantry it should go in. Ward it until I get back. Also, freeze Lutainius' body. I want to analyze it later.  DON'T touch either. Oh, and *grunts* this. I can use it in another experiment."

I cut off my charred hand just above where the Aggravated wound began and begin to heal. This would take some time.

The Abominations did as I instructed. One carried the sword with his mind, and the other carried my hand, Lutainius' corpse, and the other severed body parts with his mind.

*THUD* *THUD* *THUD* *THUD*

The Gargoyle picked up his wing and left the Defense Room to another part of the Chantry while the other melded with the wall. I turn to Azrael.

"Take us to where you were last. This had BETTER be worth it."
