Title: Modify objects for solo campaign
Post by: Vlad_III on 2015-11-09, 03:33:24
Hello,

To finish my mod completly, I need to replace some objects by others in the campaign.
The tomes of disciplines that we can find in game must be deleted (because characters can only progress in their clan disciplines), and changed by others interessant objects (I have and idea)

I think there is a file which script the objects presence in campaign... I only want to localizate all tomes of disciplines and replace them.
After this, my mod will be good  ;)

The objects in the world are not placed by a script. They are placed using Embrace map editor. You'll need to use Embrace to edit the scenes.

Ok!
I believe I must watch again the [Video Tutorial] Big o' Mapping Tutorial to refresh my memory on the utilisation of Embrace  ::)

There is a part of the tutorial to watch particulary to replace objects?

The part about Scenes & Layers would be most useful for your venture.

Unfortunatly, when I launch Embrace.exe loading a map (all files map), there is always the same CTD:

So, I can't use embrace fonction :/

Could be a number of things causing that. You may want to do at least one of the following checks:

-Make sure you installed the SDK into VTMR main directory.
-Make sure you do not have over 20 mods installed [Embrace will not load if more than 20 .NOT files are active in main VTMR directory]
-Also be sure DirectDraw is present and working because Embrace needs that deprecated dll stuff to keep working.
-You may also want to Run as Admin depending on OS [possibly use compatibility modes too].

It's ok for SDK, not 20 mod installed, DirectDraw is activated, and I run VMR and embrace as Admin.

Perhap's bug comes from modding files like templates?
I believe there were errors detected when loading Embrace .exe the first time (impossibility to load all template if I remember)
