Seems like the site had to shut down (not sure for how long) due to abuse of some kind so I went around the crymod forum to find some things on xsi rigging and what not. Ran across this tutorial:

From the looks of things, you can build completely new skeleton structures if you're willing to make all the needed animations for them. If I can build a base model skeleton, I could distribute it to the community for public use in rigging. That way, it'll save some work. I was thinking of starting with a bloodlines model like that Therese I was working on last time. Perhaps I'll build a new skeleton for her then make the source info public with a follow-up tutorial. Gonna be awhile though. I'm still sorting things out from my HD mess up awhile back.
