Multiplayer Options?

I know won.net has been long gone, so I was assuming I'd have to go LAN.   We've all got the same skins, same Mod (Age of Redemption), maps, etc.  and will be ready to go shortly.  I did find a program here http://paine.planetvampire.gamespy.com/ which was called I-hate-won which looks like it's still functional, but I've never tried joining a game.  I'm not ready to look like a total idiot having Christof wandering around asking the enemy side where the bathroom is just yet ... :P

Right now I'm struggling with port forwarding - naturally I have an obscure modem/router provided by my DSL which has no instructions for this.  I even found myself locked out of the menu functions for the thing.  The tech guy for my local DSL people won't be back until Monday.  I've needed to have this straightened out for months but have been too lazy to get into it until now.  This is in my lap and you can ignore that bit except that I'm aware of what I need to do and am working on it.

All I could find on the 'net for the proper port for Redemption was port 27960 - correct? 

Is there another option which isn't going to mean the hassle of changing ports between Redemption and other games?  If there is, I'm all ears to befit a Gangrel right about now.  The easier I can make it the better off I'll be.  I'm not particularly versed with tech, but I'm a genius compared to my best friend.

Geez that's easy.  I can't thank you enough for how much headache and phone hours you just saved me. 

And totally off my own topic, but the "Werewolf of London" in single player chased me (as Pink) around the whole city.  That thing doesn't give up!  I normally play Christof because I just like him.  I have Awaken for him to bring back bosses and help with the experience so I forgot to buy / keep some Scrolls of Awaken in the event he got himself torped.  Darn Garou came after me even with 4 Cel.  I finally shook him by going to the other level of the city.

That's what I get for bringing him back to kill him again (and making derogatory comments about him and fleas.)
