From what Iv read in the FAQ on thier site they are pretty strict about letting others use their material
so im wondering did any of you ask their approval for making this project?

The real reason im asking is that im almost done making a nWoD auto Character Generator in Flash and im wondering if they could potentially sue me for posting it online for public use.

White Wolf only has a problem with things if you attempt to make money off their products.

If they had a problem with fan-made items, they would have long sued MrGone for his character sheets, and a number of forums for the projects made.

I don't know what the story is between WW and MrGone, but I emailed White-Wolf about a general question of building a non-commercial academic game based on oWoD and they said,

'We don't offer that license at this time.'

So in essence, no. We don't have permission.

Well im building a character gen utility so that is equivalent to mr.gone's char sheets, I wont be expanding it to a game but I may make the option of making the output in Text suitable to WoDal format(so you can just take the text from the output texfield and copy paste it as a WoDal charsheet text file.
