Quests and Shops
« on: 2008-04-13, 19:42:30 »
Bear with me, I'm as new as they get.  I'm wondering if it's possible to generate one's own chronicle with the "block" on them for quests.  For example, in single player you can't advance human Christof until he's cleared the mines.  You can't continue until you retrieve the arm of St. George, Josef won't let you into the tunnels until you give him his vitae donation, etc.

Is this possible, and if not, do you just handle it in ST mode as you go along?

Also, I'm curious about the shops, either placing the already made originals from single player or creating your own.  If I remember correctly, one of Javokis' maps comes with one.  That makes me believe it's possible, but I'm not sure where to begin.

Any help, thoughts, or ideas would be most appreciated.

Edit:  Ah ha.  I was making this harder than it had to be.  I opened up a Lan game I've been playing around with (Prague right now, nothing fancy) and found you can... Add a Generic DA shopkeeper.  I was expecting something more difficult.   ::)

You could try using the ST Orb here:

http://paine.planetvampire.gamespy.com/?action=files&op=download&id=316

Install it then follow its readmes, which you'll need to go into your main game directory to find the readmes. The shops require knowledge in java so ST Orb wont help you there. I was going to write a tutorial for shop editing/creating, but didn't get around to it.

Wonderful!  Thanks, I didn't know about that place.  There's all sorts of useful things on there for me.
