Modding for Half-Life 2 is bad

Javokis write something about modding for Half-Life 2. I dont know, if he means Bloodlines or pure HL2, but HL2 is bad choice, because use Valve steam, autoupdate game source and this can induse lots of problems.

I did a little modding for HL2. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that all of it's template script data is either defined in the editor for the level or in c++ dll scripts. I really wish that more games used a template database program like Redemption does, but sense Valve has source code to their tools too perhaps I can do something like that when I figure out more c++.
