I found an actually FREE open source compression/decompression program that can open and create .nob files. You can download it at the following link:

I plan to redo ALL tutorials of Redemption for using 7-zip to view and build .nob files. For a long while I've been afraid that there hasn't been any good compression/decompression programs out there that are free and useful at the same time. Winzip was a reluctant choice for .nob tutorials, but now that this free alternitive exists, I can start writing tutorials that feature ONLY free and open source programs used to make mods for Redemption.

Hopefully when Freyja is more developed, I'll start writing tutorials for that instead of Milkshape 3d.

Winrar is free... In a way 

I've noticed 7-zip a while ago, and it has some good features.

It's no different than winzip in requiring registration eventually. I needed to find something that was absolutely free and doesn't require any registration.

7-Zip is excellent.  No registration, no waiting for it to "load" and it can compress like crazy.
