using the -console
« on: 2007-05-02, 09:05:46 »
I know this has nothing to do with modding or anything but the people in this fourm seem to have  alot of knowledge of the game so i thought i would ask ....

apparently you can use the -console to activate the console in-game by usind the "~" button.  I have entered -console after the vampire.exe" in the shortcut and when i hit the ~ button nothing happens, any ideas ???

There are sever things that COULD cause this, but try the following:

-Update your directX to the newest version
-Update your video drivers
-Be sure you are in a game level when using console (Console does not work at the menu screens)
-Change screen resolution (Both for your game and perhaps for your desktop too)
-Use a mod like Age of Redemption mod:  http://www.e-mods.net/downloads/mods/AoRSetup_4_23_2006.zip (Try both with and without CD shortcuts)

I noticed that console sometimes doesn't pop up for me as well. This only started happening after I bought my widescreen lcd monitor.

Oh yeah and try adjusting your refresh rate on your monitor. 60hz is usually the standard for most monitors, but sometimes the os sets it up higher, which tends to cause UI bugs in certain games.
