the dual procesor are 2 procesors working as one, so if you got a dual with 2.2 ghz you will be actually running a 4.4 ghz? im not really sure about this whole Dual thing...

Dual core is 2 processors in one basicly and it basicly spreads the normal load of your system accross 2 CPUs instead of just one. The more a CPU is loaded with tasks the slower it becomes, with dual core it spreads the load and keeps both cores as free as possible. Great for multitasking and it will prove usefull when games utilise its capeabilities. At the moment your CPU controlls all game physics and non GFX calculations, in current games that is a hell of a lot of work, when games can use dual core you would have one core controlling physics and the other running the game engine, much smoother more efficient gameplay.

Simplified but it should give you a rought idea ;)

Very nice deal on that system by the way, it should last you a good long time ;)

Thats what makes the 360 so good at what it does then. The 360 has a custom IBM cpu with 3 symmetrical cores, each running at 3.2Ghz. Each core has 2 threads, which makes up 6 hardware threads in total.

I'm not familiar with the 360's specs but yes, multicore CPUs are a huge help performance wise WHEN and I stress this, the software is optimized for it. Another reason consoles are so good at what they do is that every component and piece of code is targeted at playing games. If I were to take a p4 2.0 with a radeon 9800pro and a gig of ram and write an OS and bios specificly geared for running games and allocating resources to only that task, it would easily outperform a P4 EE 3.6 system with nvidia 8800gtx GFX card running win XP. It would require hardware changes (board level) and a lot of effort but it could be done tho it would cost more than a console and probably only just compete. The reason is all allocation of resources, at any given time on a PC a game can only access about 40% of your systems resources (and thats pushing it) the rest is all swallowed up by the OS (windows). If more ppl were willing to develop games for Linux then this percentage could go up to maybe 70% becuase linux has a much smaller backbone (no need for all MS's security). Sadly, linux is opensource and so anything made to run in it must be too and even if its not it can be hacked far more easily than a MS based game could so as a result game devs don't even look at it. We just get ports of old games that have gone open source... But I digress, with multi core CPUs becoming standard fare these days that is all about to change. The game could now access +/- 50% of two cores (100% of one single core basicly) and hence improve performance. All we need now are games that support multicore architecture :)

Not to mention 360 has a TON of Bus Speed, its arround 2000 or more  FBS.

Hmm...

Paine had a reply here though he was being insulting. Let's just say I agree with Paine's disagreement, but not his insults.

The disagreement was about all games on Linux being opensource. That's not really accurate. From what I understand from school about the Linux GNU is that Linux does NOT say that THIRD PARTY software has to require the inclusion of source code thus they don't always include source code.

Don't worry about Paine's insults, I know what he's like and it doesn't bother me. He just speaks his mind and I can appreciate that. I can understand it and I'm not the type that takes offence easily. He knows what he knows and says it, often rudely but the point is what counts. I have never had an altercation with him and likely never will. Nothing wrong with speaking your mind so long as you can take the response that follows and he always does. Its kinda fun actually hehe

Ok now, this is my Motherboard...

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/newsrelease/news_page.php?UID=312

Ok, since my Pc can support 2 Procesors at once... i want to know if its HAS TO BE EXACT SAME CORE SPEED AND PROCESOR, cause now have ONE Dual Core Xeon 3.60Ghz, so what if i add a NON-Dual Core 3.20Ghz, will it work? i really need to know this... does it really has to be the same Procesor model and type or i can actually add any other Xeon that supports Socket 604 at any speed?

I want to know what Performance i can get if i have 2 Physical Procesors, 1 Dual Xeon and one regular Xeon... i hope its possible... cause if not i would have to wait a long time till the Xeon procesor drops down on price quite a lot.

Sorry but no, you need an identical CPU to the one you are using. You would see a much bigger performance boost if you bought a new GFX card instead anyway. Multi CPU and dual core support is scant at the moment anyway and it is unlikely that you would even notice a difference if you added a second CPU. It only gives advantage if the software knows what to do with it and at present, even if you have a dual core ready OS, any games you play likely do not support it anyway. To my knowledge there are VERY few games that support even dual core atm, let alone 4 cpus. Wait a few months for ATI to release its Direct X 10 GFX card range so that prices of Nvidia's stuff comes down then get the best value DX10 card you can.
