Shadowrun, Promethean, Werewolf
« on: 2006-12-06, 01:18:49 »
I was at my local comic book store, and I noticed thet have some WOD, core books. They only got 4-5, I didn't even bother looking at requim stuff. They got Werewolf:The forsakem and Promeathean the created. I kinda want to get Werewolf, but then I seen, the new 4th edition core book for Shadowrun((wich is a pnp based in the year 2070,it mixes fantasy medievil with futuristic cyber-punk, so that means it has all the techonlogy and magic, and all the fantasy races, like Dwarf, elf, orc, ect..)), So I dunno which one to buy, and I don't know to much about them.

Well it all depends on what you can actually play, I have a 2nd edition Shadowrun corebook but barely used it over the years since there is no PnP coteriie in my area. still I think it has interesting settings  fantasy) which are very well written, Also 2 old console games and MUD/MUSH based on it. Microsoft are currently developing a new FPS shooter based on shadowrun (which is kind of dumb since they didnt make it a RPG).

I dunno about the 4th edition, much like VTR is the 4th edition of vamp, I heard some believe the 4th edition of Shadowrun betrays its saga somehow.

WOD is always nice if your still into that and can find others who are as well. but I assume aside from the Requim stuff its pretty much dead(by the amount of people who still play VTMR).

Do a try it before you buy it thing , thats what Bittorrents are for

All the pnp players in my area look like they are smoking crack or something. I can't seem to approach those weirdos. Thus I have no one to play GURPS with. I need to find someone relatively normal.

LOL I noticed that a lot of Washington is pretty kind. Kind or high, and it often gets difficult which is which for them at any given moment.

D&D is pretty popular here, but it's not for me, but if I get shadowrun or werewolf or Promethean, I can get some of my friends to play. I got them into OWOD, so I'm sure I can get them into whatever I pick. The ppl who play D&D, are like 15-16, or like 28-37, lol. Nothing around my age, wich is like 18-22ish, lol. I'd still play with them, but I would feel awkward. . I think I will get Promethean the created, I have read a bit about it, seems pretty good. The main goal of a promethean is to obtain, humanity, mortality kinda thing, hence not having a soul, they have to go on some pilgrimage to get it, kinda reminds me of VTM. So I could probably get some friends to play, I would probably get quite a few.

I have an old regular D&D rules pamplet that I have rarely used. Again, not many people I care to role-play with, mainly because I prefer doing dice rolling rather than acting out.

I attack EVERYTHING. lol

I got a hold of the Promethean.pdf, I'm reading the intro story now, it's pretty good, I like it((if I continue reading a bit, and like it, I will probably buy it, reading something like this on the PC, is just to tedious)), the story is about a man has been put in jail, and the police has brought in a physiatrist to evaluate him, as you read on, you pretty much relize this guy is basicly frankenstien. One thing I have noticed about white wolf, that in their series they take a lot of, real life things and put their own twist on it. Frankenstien for example, or Caine, and Vlad tepes((dracula))
