NEW Halo 3 trailer

There's now a new 59 second Halo 3 trailer been released to the public. It shows the Chief using what looks like a new weapon/item. According to stuff ive read previously the bit with the Chief in is running in realtime on the 360 engine. The bit at the beginning is rendered.

Personally, i think the entire thing is rendered as the Chief's armour doesn't look like it does in all the screenshots of the original trailer/multiplayer screenshots (EG. It's missing the dents on the top-right of the chest plate). Either way, i think the trailer is really good, makes me want to play the game even more! 

From what i can tell, this trailer was shown last night between 5:50pm and 6:20pm PST during the Monday Night Football match between the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers...did anyone catch it?

Bloody hell, ive just downloaded a 720p HD version of this trailer on my 360! That rubbish quality video doesnt do this trailer justice. Its definitly pre-rendered. The kids at the beginning are actually real actors and the rest is of such a high quality that it easily rivals the CG of a major Hollywood blockbuster! Why the Halo film was pulled i'll never know! They need to get it back on track and released!!

The reason why I heard it was pulled, the cost to make the movie was way to much, but yeah

Yes they came A LOT of money over the first tought cost, and they caused the studios to redraw, but its the LOTR director helping on the project, he'll find a way

20th Century Fox and Universal pulled out of the funding side of it because Microsoft want too much control over the project. They wanted everything running through them before approval..and i agree with them. Hollywood would just bastardise the entire franchise and then there would be another shit game-to-film.

Look at what they did with Resident Evil. RE2 was good coz it roughly followed the plot of RE3 but the original film was dogshit. I could imagine the Chief taking off his helmet within the first five minutes of the film (ala Judge Dredd). That, just like Judge Dredd is bullshit if you ask me. There's a good portion of the whole Halo-thing that has to do with what does the Chief actually look like?

Another thing is that whoever they would cast as the Chief wouldnt even sound like him. In the games he's voiced by a radio DJ from San Francisco! In my opinion they should go down the path that Square have with Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, shit...even get their studio to make it. Their CG is fantastic.

I have nodoub it'll get made in some way what with Peter Jackson involved with Microsoft in a BIG way. Dunno if anyone here knows this but him, his wife and MS are putting together a new workshop to make interactive entertainment on console and probably PC. He's starting off with a project set in the Halo universe but thats all thats been said so far.
